International

He made his T20I debut along with Abul Hasan and Ziaur Rahman at Stormont (cricket ground) near Belfast in Northern Ireland in July 2012 against Ireland. He took 5/13 from his 4 overs, including a maiden to restrict the hosts to 119/8 and thus result in an emphatic 71 run win. He took the wickets of Ed Joyce, Niall O'Brien, John Mooney, Alex Cusack and Trent Johnston to win the Man of the Match award. He bettered the 4-year-old world record for best figures on T20I debut 4/15 by Ajantha Mendis (against Zimbabwe cricket team at Maple Leaf Cricket Club at King City in Canada) in October 2008, which was again surpassed by Mendis in September later.
Elias Sunny is the first and only player in history to take 5 wicket haul on T20I debut which is considered as a rare feat and still has the best bowling figures on T20I debut(5/13 in 4 overs) [2] Elias Sunny is also the only bowler to pick up 5 wicket hauls on both Test and T20I debut.
