Life
Zbigniew Jankowski was born in Bydgoszcz, in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. He made his debut as a poet in 1956[2]. He was the organizer and the first president of the Literary Club "Kontakty" in Rybnik[3], the creator of the poetic and artistic group "Reda" in Kołobrzeg[4], the organizer and president of the Lower Silesian Branch of the Association of Polish Mariners[5], animator Of the Academic Literary Circle formed at Basilica of St. St. Nicholas in Gdańsk[6][7]. Member PEN Club, founding member Stowarzyszenie Pisarzy Polskich, ("Association of Polish Writers")[8]. From 1975 he lives in Sopot[9]. Three times nominated for Orpheus - Poetic Award of K.I. Gałczyński[10][11][12]. Poet's husband Teresa Ferenc[13], father of the poet Anna Janko.[14][15]
In 2016, Zbigniew Jankowski was awarded the silver "Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis".[16][17]
Zbigniew Jankowski's works have appeared in dozens of anthologies and other collective publications in Poland and abroad; individual poems and their cycles were translated, among others into English language, German, Russian, Swedish, Greek, French, Czech, Serbian[18].
