Street Fighter is an upcoming American action film directed by Kitao Sakurai, based on Capcom's video game series of the same name. Produced by Columbia Pictures, Legendary Pictures, and Capcom, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it serves as a reboot to the Street Fighter film series.
The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 20, 2026.
Production
editIn April 2023, Legendary Entertainment purchased the live-action film and television rights to the Street Fighter video game franchise from Capcom, and was in development on the movie; it would be the third live-action film based on the games following Street Fighter (1994) and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009).[1] That same month, brothers Danny and Michael Philippou were in talks to direct the film.[2] However, in June 2024, the Philippous were no longer attached to direct the film.[3] In September 2024, it was announced from Daniel Richtman on his patron page that Kitao Sakurai will be directing the film.[4]
