Portion used |
Entire photo |
Low resolution? |
As low as appropriate without obscuring necessary detail; any smaller and the damage to the propeller tip would not be discernible |
Purpose of use |
This is an irreplaceable historic image used to identify a notable incident in the relations between United States and China during the start of the 21st century. It clearly identifies the subject of the incident, the EP-3E ARIES II surveillance plane. The reader can readily and factually see the damage to the plane in this photo, the damaged propeller tip on the furthest right, and the missing radome (nose). |
Replaceable? |
The plane is US military property; it is very unlikely another EP-3E will suffer exact damages to this. The photo was taken in restricted sites in a foreign country; it is very unlikely for the Chinese authorities or Lockheed Martin to release the photo into public domain. |
