Quick tips Use simple, direct, precise, everyday English. Your readers are regular people who are not experts in the topic.
- Use "because" instead of "due to."
- Use "9 a.m." instead of "9 o'clock in the morning."
- Write "and so on" instead of "etc." Use "that is" instead of "i.e."
- Put "only" in the correct place in a sentence.
