Sci-Fi film where diamonds are cheaper than oil

edit

There was a 1960's or 70's first-contact sci-fi film, b-quality, with humanoid aliens landing in flying saucers who wished to trade diamonds, which were cheap where they came from, for oil, which was precious. Can anyone identify the film? μηδείς (talk) 20:58, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know, but let me note that Arthur C. Clarke has written some sci-fi where the plot has finding a cheap source of diamonds in the solar system. – b_jonas 10:28, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd be quite surprised to learn that Clarke had any connection to that movie. I got the impression it might have been filmed in Spanish or Italian and dubbed into English. I saw it on saturday afternoon UHF during the seventies. μηδείς (talk) 01:12, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1960's Tarzan film Tarzan fights Fugitive and his (?) sons

edit

There was an (I believe) 1960's color Tarzan film where Tarzan battled a criminal fugitive and what I believe were his sons. I remember a scene with a battle in quicksand (maybe the criminal or Tarzan was handcuffed for some reason? Maybe the cuffed criminal hiding in swamp?) and a scene with a major river. Can anyone identify the movie? The actor was in more than one such Tarzan movie. μηδείς (talk) 21:04, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Does Category:Tarzan films help? --Jayron32 21:27, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think it could be Tarzan the Magnificent (1960), the last of Gordon Scott's six Tarzan movies. Our page on the film includes a detailed plot summary that seems to fit Medeis' description. --Antiquary (talk) 21:29, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is definitely it, no doubt. Thanks. I had looked at the List of Tarzan Movies a while back, which implied to me it was Gordon Scott, but was not able to tell which movie from the list. Embarassingly cheesy from what I see on youtube, but I remember actually liking it. μηδείς (talk) 22:57, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Man vs. Wild (TV Series) Blu-ray?

edit

Does anyone have information's about Man vs. Wild (TV Series) being released on Blu-ray...? CHRISTIANgamer97 (talk) 22:56, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Instrumental music, probably by Ravi Shankar.

edit

There's an instrumental surf music band here in Brazil called The Gasolines. They have a track called "Mattar" which is based on a piece by Ravi Shankar, if I'm not mistaken. I'm trying to find out the name of that original version.

Here's "Mattar" by The Gasolines.

I've tried contacting the band, but I never got any reply. Can anyone identify? — Kieff | Talk 23:39, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
