Hi. I see in a recent addition to [[:Samuel Abu Jinapor]] you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. Welcome!

Hello, Jwale2, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Pampanaa, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pampanaa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Jordan Ayew. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. DVdm (talk) 14:55, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person (André Ayew), but that you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to The Flash (2014 TV series) has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of ABii NATIONAL, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.abiinational.net/?q=Mission-and-Vision.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Proposed deletion of Kpa Kpa Kpa Movement

The article Kpa Kpa Kpa Movement has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not seem to be a movement. Seems to be a neologism. May be notable enough for a very brief mention in other relevant articles but we don't need articles for the neologisms themselves. It would be different if it really was a movement.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Plantation Socfinaf Ghana (PSG)

Hello Jwale2,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Plantation Socfinaf Ghana (PSG) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Jorm (talk) 16:54, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Where to get help

Hello, Jwale2, and welcome to Wikipedia! You have asked several people for help in learning how to use Wikipedia. That's good! I see that you created several articles which were deleted. That can be discouraging, and it can be hard to understand why. I'm glad to see that you are not discouraged and still want to write for Wikipedia. You are doing the right thing, which is asking for help. The best place for a new user to get help and encouragement is the Teahouse, located at WP:Teahouse. I suggest you go and ask your question there. A friend of mine, User:Cullen328, is a Teahouse Host and I will alert him that you are coming. --MelanieN (talk) 14:48, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on ST. JOHN'S SCHOOL,SEKONDI requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://allmywebsite1.wix.com/saintjohnssecschool#!about-us. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Five minutes to help make WikiProjects better

Hello!

First, on behalf of WikiProject X, thank you for trying out the WikiProject X pilot projects. I would like to get some anonymous feedback from you on your experience using the new WikiProject layout and tools. This way, we will know what we did right, and if we did something horribly wrong, we can try to fix it. This feedback won't be associated with your username, so please be completely honest. We are determined to improve the experience of Wikipedians, and your feedback helps us with that. (You are also welcome to leave non-anonymous feedback at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject X.)

Please complete the survey here. The survey has two parts: the first part asks for your username, while the second part contains the survey questions. These two parts are stored separately, so your username will not be associated with your feedback. There are only nine questions and it should not take very long to complete. Once you complete the survey I will leave a handwritten note on your talk page as a token of my appreciation.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you, Harej (talk) 17:49, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Just sending a reminder to complete the survey linked above. (This is the only reminder I'll send, I promise.) Let me know on my talk page if you have any questions. Thank you!!! Harej (talk) 22:20, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, that's not how it works. When a page goes up as an article, it really should be ready to read. What you need to do is write the article, use preview to get the article finished, and then post it. Separately, the reason the article got deleted is that it didn't shpw that Mr. Bekoe meets notability standards for Wikipedia - coverage in the newspapers, TV and so on. My advice? In future, write a page in your sandbox, and go to a discussion space like the teahouse project and ask for feedback. They'll be able to give you advice on what to change and add to it to get an article that's ready to be posted. Blythwood (talk) 00:55, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm sorry to have had to delete the article, but Wikipedia only carries articles about subjects once they have achieved a sufficient level of notability, and at this moment Reuben Griffith Bekoe does not currently appear to. Please have a read of WP:N to learn about Wikipedia's notability criteria, and should Reuben Griffith Bekoe some day achieve the required notability and be written about in multiple independent reliable sources, Wikipedia will be happy to host an article about him. Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. A tag has been placed on NABCO APP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to NABCO APP. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Hello, Jwale2. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, NABCO APP, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Ways to improve Heal Ghana

Hi, I'm Ajpolino. Jwale2, thanks for creating Heal Ghana!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hello! I'm not sure there's enough material to support a full article on Heal Ghana. Maybe for now it'd be best to just discuss the topic at the NABCO article? In general, we decide if a topic should have an article by following the recommendations at the general notability guideline. If you have questions/concerns, please let me know or head over to the WP:TEAHOUSE where experienced editors will happily answer any questions you may have. Happy editing!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

AfroCine: The Months of African Cinema Continues….

Greetings!

Thank you very much for signing up to participate in the Months of African Cinema global contest/edit-a-thon, and thank you for your contributions so far.

It is already the middle of the contest and a lot have been achieved already! We have been able to get over 200 articles created in over seven (7) languages! The figures soars to up to a thousand, if Wikidata entries are included. Furthermore, there have been about 5 in-person gatherings of Wikipedians in different countries across the world to create articles about African(a) cinema!

We are very excited about what has been achieved so far, but your contributions are still needed to further exceed all expectations! Let’s create more articles before the end of this contest, which is this November!!!

  • Article suggestions can be found here. You can also add to this list.
  • Some notable reliable sources for African cinema can be found here. Again, this list needs expansion.
  • Interested in Wikidata translation? check out the Occupation Drive, which is being led by Wiki Loves Women, in support of the contest and the project!
  • Please remember to list articles you have created or improved in the Article Achievements section of the contest page, so that they can be easily tracked.

Thank you once again for being part of this global event!

Kind regards.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 22:50, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jwale2,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Meatsgains and it's nice to meet you:-)

I wanted to let you know that I’ve proposed an article that you started, 2011 (2011 film), for deletion because it meets one of the relevant criterion. The particular issue can be located in the notice, that is now-visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to prevent the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click Publish Changes button.

But, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept, either in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. At any case, please consider improving the page to address the issues raised or it may be deleted later anyway.

Notice

The article Greetings from Abroad has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:EXIST, there is evidence that this show actually existed, but that does not prove notability. I can find no evidence that the show was reviewed or discussed in reliable sources, and even the press in Ghana only mentioned its existence a few times. The show's host is much more notable, and this shows could be mentioned briefly at her article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. • I have accepted this article. Ideally you need to track down news sources showing something is notable when you created an article. See what I added to Efiewura for an example; once i saw it was the longest running show in Ghana and popular, I knew it was a proper article. So, for Greetings from Abroad, I see that is proposed for deletion because you can't just say "its popular in Ghana," as sadly we have so few editors that even known Ghana exists, much less anything about its TV shows! Thanks for your work!--Milowenthasspoken 20:38, 13 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Edinam Atatsi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". A page you started (Digitize Ghana) has been reviewed!

Thanks for creating Digitize Ghana.

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process.

I've redirected this article to its parent project, Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), as I wasn't able to find sources that establish its independent notability. I would suggest that you add content about Digitize Ghana to the NABCO article, and only split it off into its own article once there's enough content to write several sections about it.

To reply, leave a comment here and ping me.

December 2018

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Ghana Senior High Technical School a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Ghana Secondary Technical School. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Vodafone Ghana Music Awards

Hi Jwale2! I saw that you created the following low-quality stub articles:

I've replaced all of them with redirects to the higher-quality article Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

A) Why did you create many short stub articles instead of one long article?

B) Did you know that the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards article already existed well before you started creating your stub articles?

Kind regards, —Unforgettableid (talk) 05:55, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @ Unforgettableid, thanks for your concern but those articles are not low quality. These article explain the history and how far it came before the name was changed from Ghana Music Awards to Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in late 2011 which fully started the following year 2012. Please replace it back, the article would surely be worked on.If you leave it at only Vodafone Ghana Music awards we will be forgetting about the history of one of Ghana's prestigious awards ceremony so please try and replace it.(Jwale2 (talk) 11:44, 27 December 2018 (UTC))[reply]
Hi; thanks for your reply!
A) Have you already looked at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards article?
B) Do you agree that it's a better-quality article than the stubs you created?
Perhaps you could add all your historical information into the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards article.
Kind regards, —Unforgettableid (talk) 09:44, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Articles

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Your goal of expanding Wikipedia's knowledge on Nigeria is very commendable. Please understand that it is a very good goal and much appreciated. However, the articles you are creating often have one or two lines with a lack of independent, reliable sources and are moved to draft. This also clogs up New Page Patrolling. You should not worry about the number of articles you create but the quality of them. There is no rush, there is no deadline for these articles. It does not matter if it takes you a couple days to a month to create, it is worth it for the quality. I urge you to slow down and take the time to craft really good quality articles that pass our WP:Notability guidelines. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:30, 24 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hear, hear! HickoryOughtShirt?4 is 100% correct. It's quality, not quantity, which matters. Jwale2, instead of creating stub articles in mainspace, please create longer articles instead. You can store the articles in AfC space and then move them to the mainspace when ready. Makes sense? —Unforgettableid (talk) 09:56, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article A Stab In The Dark (film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article lacks reliable sourcing and no evidence that it passes WP:NFILM guidelines. Google and Jstor didn't produce any sources. Fails WP:GNG.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Veronica Commey moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Veronica Commey, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kwame Owusu-Ansah, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page A Stab in the Dark (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:

  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
  • Diversity winner
  • Gender-gap fillers

For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Felix De Rooy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://curacao-art.com/artists/rooy-felix-de/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Yohann Kouam moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Yohann Kouam, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. AfroCine/Months of African Cinema

Hi I have noticed your significant contributions to AfroCine/Months of African Cinema while reviewing your articles. Yes, you have added the articles and your signatures, that's alright but you have missed out to do one thing. That is you have not included any of your articles under the subsection Created Articles sorted by Users where your username is mentioned in the bottom of the contest page. I am saying this because you have created numerous articles and in order to verify the total number of articles I am alerting you about this. When I tried to do that for you, it was really difficult for me to count and add them because the list was huge. Well you maintain the flow as you are doing at the moment. Best regards! A tag has been placed on Kwame Antwi-Agyei Opoku, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hi Jwale2! Happy new year! I just came across Coming to Africa, an article you created recently and I noticed the IMDb link does not work. If you are wanting to link to a title (film, tv show, etc...), you need to use the {{IMDb title}} template, not {{IMDb name}} which is used for people. I've fixed it but just for future reference! Unblock requests

Please don't do this. It's not helpful. If that user is blocked, they need to make the unblock request and they need to tell us the IP address they are operating from. Without that information, there's literally nothing we can do. --Yamla (talk) 13:00, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yamla thanks for your concern. The reason why I do this is to help some of the editors in the community who have such challenges and find it difficult to rectified. Can you kindly advice what should be the best practice or should I organize a training event on that for the community. Jwale2 (talk) 13:14, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The best practice in this case is to have the user make the request themselves and disclose their IP address. WhatIsMyIP will tell them their IP address. If they wish this information to remain private, they can use WP:UTRS. Note that a lot of Internet service providers in Africa do indeed use proxies, so this will likely be a continual problem, I'm afraid. I sincerely appreciate your efforts and I hope this information is helpful. --Yamla (talk) 13:17, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying licensed material requires attribution

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Samuel Abu Jinapor you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 16:32, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
