It's true that a place with a name doesn't have to be a village/town/etc. However, the reference I included states "The village is a starting point for some fine coastal walks". So Fareham Council, the governing body for this piece of geography, says it's a village. Unless you can provide a better reference that says it's not a village then I believe the change I've made should stand. Addition: Just read about the 3RR, which I have no desire to break - my first revert I don't think counts, as it wasn't really part of the current discussion, but I shall refrain from further reverts for the time being, and stick to discussion here. Nearest Village.

[edit]

There's been some back and forth about the nearest village. Although Stubbington and Hill Head are often treated as a single unit, they are technically two distinct villages, as shown in the reference. Hence Hill Head is the closest village to Stubbington. What is a village?

[edit]

Hill Head is just a district of FarehAM THAT has a name, but a place with a name is not necessarily a village, town or anything else. E.g. Bitterne, Sholing, Fratton, Hilsea have names but are not villages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.84.178.76 (talk) 11:44, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
