Societal attitudes towards homosexuality deals with social attitudes and is very political and theological in nature, while the present article offers various social facts and perspectives on human factors. The two article's scope, while parallel, do not meet each other.

Exactly, one covers predominantly anti-homosexual views, the other is mostly about social factors where such anti-homosexual views are not dominant (although it does mention violence, etc). If you read the guidelines, it is recommended that articles about 'attitudes' be avoided, for precisely the reason that they tend towards being a WP:SOAP.
