Aurangzeb Naqshbandi is an Indian journalist. He is known for his reporting on conflict zones, especially in Jammu and Kashmir.[1]
Career
Naqshbandi worked with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) on a documentary about Jammu and Kashmir.[2]
In 2004, he attended the Defence/War Correspondents’ Course, organized by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. This program provided him with theoretical knowledge and field training with the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.[3]
In 2012, the government of Jammu and Kashmir recognized him for his work in journalism.[4]
In October 2013, he was part of a media team that traveled with the Prime Minister to Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia.[5]
Pegasus Spyware Controversy
Naqshbandi was mentioned in the Pegasus spyware controversy. His name appeared on a list of journalists and individuals who were reportedly targeted or possibly targeted for surveillance by clients of the NSO Group's Pegasus Spyware.[6][7][8][9]
