Career
Estonian andventure
He played two seasons for Mandalskameratene before he joined Flora Tallinn in 2002. In his first season, he managed to score 23 goals as Flora won the Meistriliiga. In 2003 he scored an impressive 39 goals, including 7 in a 17-0 win against relegation-bound Kuressaare. This also put him in contention for the ESM Golden Boot . This was at the time the highest number of goals by a single player in the Estonian top flight. He also beat another record as he scored in 15 consecutive games, a record according to rsssf is a world second best . Once again, they won the championship. During his time there he also won two Estonian SuperCups, and lost one cup final. His 39 goals was also the highest amount scored by a single player up until Tarmo Neemelo scored 41 in 2005, although at that time the number of games in Meistriliiga had been increased to 36, instead of 28 when Hamre got his record.

Back to Norway
After the successful 2003 season, he moved back to Norway to play for Norwegian Premier Division side Vålerenga. His stay there was not a success, as he was only given the opportunity to play in 4 games, not scoring once. He did however score 32 goals in 16 games for Vålerenga 2, who plays in Norwegian Second Division.

After just one season with Vålerenga, he moved back to former club Mandalskameratene in 2005, who plays in Adeccoligaen, the second tier in Norway. This was not a good season for Mandalskameratene as they just got relegated, but Hamre was their top scorer with 7 goals.

The following season he spent half the season in Norwegian Second Division, where he scored 4 goals in 12 games. During that stay, Mandalskameratene surprisingly beat Premier Division side Odd Grenland out of the Norwegian Cup by 4-1 with Hamre knocking in two goals. His last game for the club was in the fourth round against giants Rosenborg where they lost 1-0 due to a late goal. Hamre was actually joint top-scorer in the Norwegian Cup alongside Roman Kienast with 7 goals. He then joined Herfølge

Denmark and retirement
His time at Herfølge was cut short as he due to lack of motivation decided to retire halfway through the season, scoring two goals (one league and one cup goal).
