On 19 October 2011, Bruni gave birth to a daughter, Giulia, in the Clinique de la Muette, in Paris.
Is there any reason that her daughter is not included in the list of her relatives in the Info Box below her photo'''?''' <span style="color:red;"><B>☺</B></span> [[User:Dick Kimball|Dick Kimball]] ([[User talk:Dick Kimball|talk]]) 14:26, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

== Marina Petrella ==

I moved this to the talkpage:

<nowiki>In 2008, Bruni caused controversy when she spoke against the extradition of [[Marina Petrella]], an Italian far-left terrorist. Petrella had murdered a police commissioner and assisted in the kidnapping of Italian politician, [[Aldo Moro]]. Petrella had been living in France since 1993 and had not been extradited due to the [[Mitterrand doctrine]]. Sarkozy eventually chose not to extradite Petrella.<ref>{{Cite news |url=http://www.corriere.it/politica/08_ottobre_16/caso_petrella_magris_9c80a008-9b5b-11dd-a5ca-00144f02aabc.shtml|title=Non siamo un paese di barbari – Corriere della Sera|website=www.corriere.it|language=it|access-date=22 July 2017}}</ref></nowiki>

According to reliable sources (e.g. [https://www.theguardian.com/world/2008/aug/06/terrorism.france The Guardian] the conviction was of being ''complicit'' in murder, which is not the same as actually murdering someone. And according to [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7544817.stm the BBC] she was released from prison due to ill health, not because everybody forgave her and thought murder was fine. Also, this story is more about Sarkozy; Bruni only plays a very minor role so it is weird to even mention it. Philanthropy and charity work

[edit]

This "Philanthropy and charity work" section is hilarious:

  • She attended state dinners with the Emir of Qatar and his wife doing charity work by having dinner with someone incredibly rich and evil?
  • She attended state dinners ... with Iraq's president in Paris in 2009. yeah the dinner was at the Elysee Palace[1] I will eat there every day of the week if it helps charity.
  • According to Le Canard Enchainé, Bruni was asked by Vatican officials not to join her husband in an official visit for fear that the Italian newspapers would reprint racy pictures dating from her modelling career.[92] it is a satirical newspaper. They were joking. And how is this philanthropy or charity work?
  • She also participated in a concert with Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin for the 91st birthday of Nelson Mandela,[78][79] and recorded a song for the album We Were So Turned On: A Tribute to David Bowie. Nelson Mandela and David Bowie didn't need help in 2009. And David Bowie is not a charity case, he is incredibly rich and famous.
  • Bruni visited New York City in September 2008 with her husband, where she attended a meeting on poverty and female mortality with Queen Rania and Wendi Murdoch, met for lunch with First Lady Laura Bush at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Symposium on Advancing Global Literacy, and attended the General Assembly in the UN with her husband.[85] She visited a city where she attended a meeting, went for lunch and attended another meeting. With her husband. How is this philantropy or charity work? It is just one of the many obligations someone in her positions has.
  • Bruni met the Dalai Lama in August 2008 at Lerab Ling, a Buddhist temple on a hill in Languedoc, France.[83] Bruni received Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to France in September 2008.[84] Neither are good people, and meeting them is not charity work. Polygnotus (talk) 00:45, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Because of these and other NPOV problems I have moved the content here. Do not restore it unless the problems are fixed. Polygnotus (talk) 00:45, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Marina Petrella

[edit]

I moved this to the talkpage:

In 2008, Bruni caused controversy when she spoke against the extradition of [[Marina Petrella]], an Italian far-left terrorist. Petrella had murdered a police commissioner and assisted in the kidnapping of Italian politician, [[Aldo Moro]]. Petrella had been living in France since 1993 and had not been extradited due to the [[Mitterrand doctrine]]. Sarkozy eventually chose not to extradite Petrella.<ref>{{Cite news |url=http://www.corriere.it/politica/08_ottobre_16/caso_petrella_magris_9c80a008-9b5b-11dd-a5ca-00144f02aabc.shtml|title=Non siamo un paese di barbari – Corriere della Sera|website=www.corriere.it|language=it|access-date=22 July 2017}}</ref>

According to reliable sources (e.g. The Guardian the conviction was of being complicit in murder, which is not the same as actually murdering someone. And according to the BBC she was released from prison due to ill health, not because everybody forgave her and thought murder was fine. Also, this story is more about Sarkozy; Bruni only plays a very minor role so it is weird to even mention it. Polygnotus (talk) 01:01, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
