Italian Defamation Lawyers

I have been told by the lawyers of the Italian discrimination committee to refrain from speaking to you, they have contacted Wikipedian authorities and our gathering evidence and taking this matter very seriously. I have nothing further to say at this time.(Scipio3000 19:33, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

DarthGriz98

Funny how your only there to bash me, yet when I ask for your help to resolve this, you ignore me? Why? Is it not your job to solve disputes, so why won't you help me?? Hmmm...I wonder???

1)No one will even check in to the matter or help resolve this dispute, why???

2)Edward321 changed sentences that I had cited, why is he allowed to do this

3)Why does Edward321 not have to follow guidelines and consult with the others working on this before making Major changes?? You say I don't own the article, but why is Edward321 allowed too?? I think I can guess...

4)If Edward321 was not scrutinizing me so closely, no one would have even noticed, and I would have been able to finish my edit on the Cuisine Section without any problems...It is not like I left this there for days, it was from last night until this morning. Everything else I have done has had citations!!(Scipio3000 19:13, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

My friend I have done nothing to bash you, I only have pointed out what I see. I am a neutral party in this dispute, but I can't side with you when I see things like personal attacks and copyright violations that you try to cover with other things. I googled the content that was copyrighted to make sure it was a copyright violation. I did not side with Edward or JodyB without examining your case very carefully from the very beginning. I am not trying to hurt you, I want you to have the chance to edit without problems, but for that you need to stop accusing other parties of harassing you and placing vendettas against us on your talk page. Please read my response at the bottom of your talk page. DarthGriz98 19:19, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please answer why you want help settle or find someone to mediate this dispute...why?(Scipio3000 19:26, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Admin

WHY WILL NONE OF YOU HELP ME SOLVE MY DISPUTE WITH EDWARD321, I AM BEGGING FOR HELP, YET YOU IGNORE ME AND THE ONLY TIME I HEAR FROM YOU IS WHEN YOU BLOCK ME!! THIS IS DISCRIMINATION BECAUSE OF MY ETHNCICITY....I HAVE ASKED FOR THE PAST WEEK FOR HELP AND I AM CRUELLY IGNORED OR TOLD BY JODYB...I DESERVE NO PROTECTION...HOW IS THIS ETHICAL...WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE ON HERE??(Scipio3000 19:01, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Anti-Italianism

is a hostility toward Italian people and Italian culture. It uses crude or unfair stereotypes about Italian people, a popular one being that most Italians are unnaturally violent, or somehow associated with the Mafia. Aside from the bigotry inherent in this idea, it is also statistically improbable. Like most racist and biased sentiments, anti-Italianism often uses discrimination, prejudice, and even violence. Sociologically speaking, the largest common denominator among anti-Italians is ignorance and parochialism, a relative lack of exposure to other cultures and ways of life. American ethnocentric attitudes and "nativism"—a form of racially-rooted chauvinism have often contributed greatly to this kind of prejudice. German-American and Irish-American groups have often been mentioned as particularly virulent in their animosity toward Italians

Violence against Italians

In the United States, Italian immigrants were subject to EXTREME prejudice, racism, and, in many cases, violence. During the 1800s and early 20th Century, Italian Americans, being seen as non-anglo and oftentimes non-white, were the second most likely group to be lynched. One of the largest mass lynchings in American history involved the lynching of eleven Italians in the city of New Orleans.'' The Italians, who were thought to have assassinated police chief David Hennessey, were placed in a jail cell before being brutally murdered by a mob, with witnesses claiming that the cheers "were nearly deafening." Reporting on the incident, one newspaper reported "The little jail was crowded with Sicilians, whose low, receding foreheads, dark skin, repulsive countenances and slovenly attire proclaimed their brutal nature."

In fact, in many areas of the South, Italians were "semisegregated." In the 1920s, two Italian anarchists, Sacco and Vanzetti, experienced prejudice and ultimately death due to their Italian ancestry and extreme political views. Though not lynched, Sacco and Vanzetti were subject to a mishandled trial, and many historians agree that the judge, jury, and prosecution were extremely biased against the Italian immigrants. Sacco and Vanzetti were eventually put to death, convicted of a murder despite the lack of evidence against them.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!

1)No one stepped in to help solve this dispute after several admin. were notified and I begged you to help and I was ignored!!

2)The person changing my passages had no prior interest or contributions to any Italian section until his vendetta with me...I begged for admin. to look at this and they refused and told me I deserve no protection

3) I am told that anyone can make changes to Italian articles, yet no one can touch anyother ethnic groups without knowledge or factual material and references. So why aren't Italians protected...hmmm I wonder??

4) I am being accused of copyright violation, when I told the other 2 Sicilians working on this it was not finished and I only wanted to show them a format. On sunday I worked on this until 6 in the morning and spent all day yesterday...I feel asleep before I could finish(and left a note to the two others woking on this...I am not done, WIP, let me know what you think?) So why are we not afforded the right to work on this as we want?? Everyone else is allowed too?? So why can't we??? I wonder...

5)I am told we must work as a group and consult others before we make changes yet...Edward321 is allowed to so without our consultation...why is he protected from all the rules I am not protected from...hmmm, I wonder???(Scipio3000 18:34, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Sicilianist

I have been blocked becasue of the private conversation me and you had on your page over how white people discriminate against Sicilians and he blocked me for saying white boy...Can you help or find someone who can for me...that was private and beside it is true, here is another example of it! The page on Sicily is a mess you'll have to fix that to, I can't believe they are doing this to me!! Help!(Scipio3000 16:56, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

JodyB

why JodyB in the end you will be guilty when the Italian defamation league steps in: 1)I have begged for someone to interven btween me and Edward321 and no one has, why?? I have begged!

2)Edward321 has never contributed to any Italian or Sicilian articles until his vendetta with me. If he was so interested in our history than why did he never once contribute until his feud with me...you can saywhat you want but the computer trails don't lie.

3)The only thing Edward321 changes are my exact articles and sentences...COINCIDENCE???

4)Edward321 made MAJOR changes, without consulting me, the Sicilianist or SicilianMandolin...why is he allowed to do this? I would be blocked

5)You have shown several times your hatred and hostility to me and this will be shown to the Italian Defamation league.

6)The Sicilian page is a mess and you blocked me on purpose so I couln't fix it. They will see all of this.

I want to be unblocked and I want someone to settle the dispute between me and Edward321.(Scipio3000 16:32, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Why Constantine is responsible for the spread of Christianity

I am going to give references to all the material that I am going to present. If you need more info. on the books or authors let me know. I only want to provide a honest straight narrative of the history of Europe. My point is that Constantine the Great and the Roman Empire were responsible for spreading Christianity to Europe in the 4th Century AD as opposed to the time Charlemagne was crowned by the Pope as the "Emperor of the Romans" in the 9th Century AD, which became the Holy Roman Empire and that became the Habsburg dynasty. If anyone disagrees with my explanation as why my revision should not remain, please let me know. We should come to an agreed consensus and I hope the referenced material I am going to provide proves this. I took nothing from any of the links from Wikipedia so I suggest you check these out too. I got everything from my books. I used 5 seperate books, if need be, I can provide more sources. I am kinda embarrassed but I don't remeber exactly the proper way to do historical references nor do I know the system of putting up references on Wikipedia, but I will do my best....

The year 306 AD Rome and Italy were much less vital to the empire than they had been in the days of Hannibal or Augustus, but the ancient seat of power still had sufficient mystique that possession of it made it of great moral value to its imperial possessor.(1) In the West, the struggle was Maxentius, who had seized Italy and North Africa, and Constantine, who had suceeded his father Constantius as Western Emperor. in 312 Constantine invaded Italy and defeated Maxentius at Turin and Verona.(2) Constantine himself needed a to unite and inspire his troops, with the very conception of legitimate succesion under Diocletian system. He found God, or God found him, in a vision of a cross across the sun, a phenomenon that does in fact naturally occur under proper atmospheric conditions. Having seen the amazing sight, Constantine later told a biographer of a dream in which the long persecuted Christians had shown him a 'rho'[P] crossed with a 'chi'[X] and commanded 'In hoc signo, vincere'(In this sign conquer). If for no other reason than their remarkable persistence in the face of extensive persecution, the Christians were a moral force in the empire, and the soldiers accepted the generals vision and painted their emblem upon their shields. Constantines army had victory and vision on their side.(3)

He defeated Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge and made Christianity the state religion, confiscating temple treasure and building many new churches. This left him undisputed ruler of the Western provinces.(4) In 313 at the Edict of Milan constantine granted the Christians toleration and almost immediately, with the emperors patronage, an impressive building programme of cathedrals and churches started in Italy. In a few years the enormous Basilicas of St. John Lateran and St. Peter were built in Rome. Christian bishops were allowed to give Roman citizenship to slaves, and conduct their own law courts. A new heirarchy and a new kind of authority had come to Italy.(5)

At the Edict of Milan, Constantine iniated the Christianization of the Roman Empire. The conversion of parts of the Roman elite and promulagation of Christianity by Roman administrators set Europe on paths towards conversion, but fairly quickly the Church gathered its own momentum. charismatic individuals, some isolated holy men and women, others popular bishops and clergy, held great sway over local populations, while shrines devoted their lives to spiritual salvation achieved renown across Europe. Impressive ecclestical practices, such as cathedrals and monasteries, based upon traditional Roman imperial structures, began to replace these on the nascent urban landscapes across the continent.(6)

In 316 Constantine felt strong enough to attack his rival Licinius seizing Greece and the Balkans. The ensuing truce lasted until 324, when Constantine finally defeated Licinius; his victory reunited the Roman Empire. He also took personal interest in theology, participating in church councils at Arles in 314 and Nicaea in 325, and baptised on his deathbed in 337.(7) At Nicaea he presided over the first ecunenical council, representing the whole church, which defined beliefs for all Christians. A full ecclesiatical organization developed, with a heirarchy of bishops and a framework of patriarchates, provinces and dioceses throughout the empire.(8)

The two halves of the Roman Empire remained linked for half a century after the reigns of Diocletian and Constantine. Only in 395 AD, with the bitter death of Theodosius, did the complete break occure(9)

So based on that information, without Constantine and the incredible sway he had over the population and the networks and well connected logistics and roads of the Roman Empire allowed Christianity to spread rapidly and uniformly. At this time the Roman Empire was from Europe(England, France to the Rhine, Belgium, Swiss, [[Austria}], Spain, Italy, The Balkans, Greece, the Near East and North Africa). This is the majority of the known world at this time and without Constantine church councils, massive religious reforms, tolerance and promotion of christianity and the Roman empires connected and integrated society and logistics this would have never been possible, and Christianity may never had the chance to grow as it did. Nonetheless, it was constantine who gave Christianity its acceptance to the empire, its freedom to develop, the money and donations provided by the emperor for it to prosper, and its greatest push to a incredibly large, homogenious(culture-wise) society. If their is any disagreement with what I am saying please let me know. But please bring references and factual material, as that is the only thing that will suffice. Thanks for reading

On my article, Sicily

I feel that what Wikipedia is for and it's objective is to give people a good understanding and overview of a subject. I go on here to get the general idea of something and if I am interested there are links or references to find more information. But several articles on here are sloppy or not structured properly and I feel this to be the case with this article.

I want to give the general person a factual, informative introduction to Sicily and provide links if a certain time period interests them. But I want them to be able to go through each section and briefly get the general idea of each period in the long, fairly complicated and rich history of Sicily.

Sicily

Scipio, he reverted the edit because it was taken word for word from the websites he mentions. You do have, at least when I checked your revert, a link to the cite but not to the particular quote. Neither did you indicate that it was a quote by enclosing it in quotation marks. Wikipedia allows any copyright violation to be deleted or removed on sight. I'm not too terribly concerned about the edit in and of itself, but your response is not acceptable. You do not own the page and you do not get to approve or disapprove changes.

Now, if it remains as it was when I saw it, it will be removed. If you add proper citations and quotation marks it might survive. However, others might think it doesn't belong and they should then go to the discussion page and you all can talk about removing it or keeping it.

For your benefit, please settle down and be more civil especially when you disagree. Choose carefully how you will respond to people. --JodyB yak, yak, yak 15:33, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As a response to what you ask of on my talk page and reinforcing what JodyB has said, you cannot own a Wikipedia article. Anyone can edit them, anyone. Whether a user is a Sicilian or not has nothing to do with if they can edit the article or not. How can you know that he is not Italian or that he has no interest in the subject? If he had no interest in the subject, why would he edit it? Even if he is not Italian, it makes no difference. You do not get to decide who edits an article or not. I don't mean to sound rude but that will not be tolerated. DarthGriz98 15:56, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Again, you cannot own an article, and you cannot tell who can and cannot edit an article. But his behavior as well as yours is out of control and I will talk to him too. DarthGriz98 15:57, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Are you adding things word for word from other sources? Even if you cite a source you cannot do that, it's a copyright violation and a severe problem. He has every right to revert that, infact any user that sees that will revert it and you can be blocked for that, I suggest that you cease to readd those sections that you took word for word from other sections. DarthGriz98 15:59, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scipio, I have read your comment on my talk page. Let me walk you through this in very simple form.

  1. I am glad you are working hard on the article. However, that does not excuse making serious legal errors like a copyright violation. This is an area that you absolutely have to get right. You should take a break and work when rested. You will make fewer errors.
  2. The edit in question was plainly wrong. Such is beyond question.
  3. You really do not know if Edward has knowledge of Sicily or not and you are coming dangerously close to personal attacks which is serious with serious consequences.
  4. His heritage is irrelevant.
  5. That is new is irrelevant. Anyone is welcomed to edit any article at any time.
  6. His removal of a copyvio did not require prior discussion. Other changes should be brought to the discussion page especially on an article with a controversial history.
  7. Your response to conflict is not acceptable. You have no choice but to remain civil. Your response is what has really created this latest incident.

I know you have alot of pride in this article. But unless you relax, get a little rest and stop being confrontational you will find your self blocked once again. That is not a threat, it is an encouragement to you to abide by the conventions in place at Wikipedia. --JodyB yak, yak, yak 16:11, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you had really worked on the article for 2 hours, it would not be a word to word duplication from the cited website. What you need to do is to rewrite it so that it is WP:NPOV and is not copy and paste paragraphs from another website. Your edits will be reverted by anyone who came by and finding out it is copy and paste material instead of an original piece, including admins, and when admins are involved, you will simply get blocked from editing instead of getting things your way without cooperating with the rules. Blocked

I have asked and begged for you to cease your incivility. This diff [1] where you refer to the White boy is unacceptable especially when coupled with all of your enraged comments. --JodyB yak, yak, yak 16:23, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have asked several times for help and I am ignored! I have begged for a dispute resolution between me and Edward321 and no one helps!

This is the replies I get and my answer back

Reply from admin:"YOU don't own these article, this a group project"

My reply: That is why I am working with 3 other people. Edward321 never consulted any of us...why does he not have to follow these rules(say what you want but this is what the computer shows you doing.

AR:"It doesn't matter if he is not Sicilian or doesn't know your history he is allowed to do what he wants."

MR:Oh really, well The Italian defamation League will see about that! No other person is allowed to make changes to any other person ethnciity without any knowledge of their culture...hmmm what is wrong with this pic???

AR:How do you know Edward321 has no interest in Italian culture??"

MR:Because he never worked on any Italian or Sicilian article until his feud with me

AR:"Edward321 is not bnothering you"

MR: OH YEAH! I have begged for someone to help and resolve this yet no one has...why? The man follows me evrywhere I go he reports me coonstantly he has a list on me a mile long and the only thing he changes is my work...Coincidence?? I didn't think so!!

JodyB's relies:You deserve no protection and your blocked

MR: Fine will take this to the Italain defamation league!(Scipio3000 16:41, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

The user never said you deserve no protection and your blocked. And Edward reverted you because you did something illegal. DarthGriz98 16:43, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did nothing illegal...Please check the trails. I was going to cite this today, this is so unfair!! And yes JodyB did tell me I deserve no protection(Scipio3000 16:45, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

HAVE any of you checked the Sicilian page under cuisine and looked at the mess on there? Pleae check this before you continue to treat me like this!!!

Yes, I have looked under the Sicilian page under cuisine, you have been adding copyrighted material. It does not mater if you cited it, you copyed it word for word which is in fact illegal. DarthGriz98 16:49, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Copying from others website and pasting it in some other with merely a link back to the original place without forehand notification to the copied site is illegal. Citing the link does not make it suddenly become legal. I have NOT involved in any of the mess before today, and I merely did what the policies said today. So maybe you will listen to my reasoning? MythSearchertalk 16:49, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I told you that was to show the others how it was going to be set-up this is a WIP, And I told that to Sicilianmanolin and The sicilianist.

And besides that did you see how the contents of the mafia are merged with the cuisine the page is a mess did you check taht?

And did you check to see if prior to his vendetta with me Edward321 ever worked on any Italian or Sicilian articles?? Did you...would you pleae.

Did you check to seee if Edward321 ever changed anything but my exact work check this please.(Scipio3000 16:52, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I have been beggingfor a dispute resolution between me and Edward321 why has no one helped me?? WHY I have begged you people for help! I am not doing nothing wrong and you all know that! I don't deserve this treatment or to be blocked!(Scipio3000 16:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

FORGET THE CITATIONS FOR A MOMENT AND FOCUS ON THE REAL PROBLEM:

1)WHY IS EDWARD321 ALLOWED TO MAKE MAJOR CHANGES WITHOUT CONSULTING ME THESICILIANIST AND THE SICILIANMANDOLIN?? THIS IS A GROUP PRJECT WHY DOES HE NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES, BUT I HAD TO AND GOT BLOCKED A FEWD DAYS AGO FOR THIS, YET HE GETS OFF SCOTT-FREE, WHY??

2)WHY HAS NO ONE STEPPED IN TO RESOLVE A DISPUTE BETWEEN ME AND EDWARD321...WHY IS NO ONE HELPING..AFTER I HAVE ASKED FOR HELP THESE LAST 3 DAYS AND NO ONE WILL STEP IN.(Scipio3000 17:00, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I must say that I am sorry that those are not what important in wikipedia. The mafia part is not merged to the cuisine page now as I see it, and the mess was introduced by the copy and pasting of the cuisine part. My advice here would be rewriting the cuisine part with your own words, make it NPOV, as neutral as it could be, citing from various sources, inline, and preview it to make sure it works fine and not messing up the page, place it in the talk page first if you are not sure about how to format stuff, and ask for help in the following tag links. You do not get help because they are not in the right place, that's all.

I would but I was blocked for a private conversation between me and another user, whicjh JodyB took himself and made it out of context and blocked me for that. This user did not tell on me and it was a private conversation..he blocked me because in there I said White Boy! How is this fair JodyB abuses me mentally, pleae help me, pleae! All I want is to have someone step in to solve my dispute with Edward321, but no one will, please help me and defend me against this unjustice(Scipio3000 17:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

How can you tell me that solving A dispute resolution is not a priority amongst Wikipedia...HOW...I am being harrassed..how can you say this is not a concern??(Scipio3000 17:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

In all honesty, JodyB was not the only administrator going to block you, you are out of control. Please stop accusing Edward and other users of harassing you, we have all seen that they have done no such thing. Once your block is over you have another chance to start over, I really suggest that you take that opportunity and use it wisely. DarthGriz98 17:13, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay just stop and listen to reason...have you even checked this out or is this just an assumption? Please do so, I at least deserve this, please. You say I don't own the Italian articles I agree I have never said I do that is why me and 2 other people are working on them...Why is Edward321 allowed to do this without consulting any of us?(Scipio3000 17:16, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I checked the block, it only lasts till 18/08/2007, so it would give you plenty of time to write what you are going to place in the future nice looking cuisine section, wouldn't it? I must remind you that wikipedia is a public place, even on user talk pages, I don't know what sort of language will put you into a block, since I am not an admin, but I guess the admin is just trying to cool you down from the reverting and bolded words on other user's talk pages. I am actually surprised that no one have left a welcome message here and making you very hard to find help. Edward321 seems to be only reverting your edits he found to be copyright infringement, and protecting wiki in his own way. I am sorry of what happened, but it would be better to read about the welcome message links and get to more policies before further editing anyway, I got into quite some arguements for my own lack of knowledge on them and faced more unhappy situations than this one you are facing now. This is all I can do for you now, and hope you have a better experience after the block. MythSearchertalk 17:18, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Question to Scipio

In my attempts to help, I think there is one piece of information that I'm missing which you can easily help me with. Now I can't stress this enough - I'm not asking for why you think you are right, I'm just asking a "what happened". What happened between you and Edward321 and JodyB? Please keep the response as short as possible...i just need the bare bones at this stage. Juan Miguel Fangio| ►Chat  18:25, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A possibly helpful suggestion

Why not translate this nice mouth-watering article in italian on Sicilian cuisine and gastronomy from the italian Sicily WP page into english for the english Sicily WP page? --Mathsci 18:24, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have another suggestion, once your block is over, how about taking the Sicily article and working on sections of it in your user space. I can show you how to do that if you like, as long as you refrain from incivility against other users in the future. That way you won't have to worry about getting caught in a sticky situation because by the time it's ready to go back into mainspace all the kinks will be worked out. The other two users that you were collaborating with can help you with that as well. How does that sound? DarthGriz98 19:15, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is bull....JodyB told me not to do that on my user page, when I was blocked a few days ago...what is wrong with you people, why are you so mean? why are you doing this too me? I don't deserved to be Blocked again for the 3rd time....

And why can't you answer any of my questions?

1)Edward321 is plaguing me, yet you refuse to help...why?? Please answer why you won't help resolve this matter??

2)And why is Edward321 allowed to make changes without consulting the 3 other people who have actually doing real work on here?

3)If this has nothing to do with my ethnicity than why am I not being treated equally? You never even looked into my complaint nor corrected Edward321 for making major changes without consulting us why? Hinestly if it has nothing to do with my ethnicity than why else would you not help me??

Please answer these questions or send me someone who won't treat me like garbage...I hardly think me calling Edward321 a whiteboy deserves this...I truly believe I am being discriminated against and I want you to put me in contact with someone who will look into the matter or I swear I ma going to sue Wikipedia for your actions and negliegince to provide me with this material!(Scipio3000 19:25, 14 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]
