James Sherrard Armstrong (27 April, 182123 November, 1888) was a Canadian lawyer, jurist, and landowner from Quebec. He was born in Berthier, province of Quebec, 27 April 1821. He was called to the bar in 1844, became queen's counsel in 1867 and was nominated crown prosecutor for the district of Richelieu in 1864.[1] He served as the Chief Justice for the colony of St. Lucia from 1871 until 1882 when he resigned and returned to his home at Sorel.
