{People and self} William Errington, High Sheriff of Northumberland b.1699 d.5 Mar 1738.
Errington was the only son of Francis Errington (1665-1699) a papist of the landed gentry branch of Walwick Grange, Northumberland (Burke's Landed Gentry). He married Mrs Isabel Bacon at Haydon Bridge on 17 Oct 1731 (Haydon Bridge parish register) and was appointed sheriff not long before his death (Gentleman's Magazine 1731 9/48). He left one son John (1733-1768) gentleman of High Warden (Burke's Landed Gentry) and ancestor of Cardinal George Basil Hume, Catholic Archbishop of Westminster.
