Gareth Kyle Berg (born 18 January 1981, Cape Town) is a cricketer who currently plays for Middlesex County Cricket Club.

Berg, a medium-fast pace bowler, made his first-class cricket debut for Middlesex on 24 April 2008 in the county championship match against Glamorgan.

Berg was born in South Africa and attended the oldest school in the country, South African College School. He is not a Kolpak player, as he is qualified by residency for England and the fact that he has an Italian passport.[1]

Berg is used more in the one day form of the game by Middlesex and has performed well so far. Twice in 2009, Middlesex had a large batting collapse, only for Berg to come in and try and salvage some pride for them.

Also in 2009, against Essex, Berg recorded both his first first-class half-century, and his best first-class bowling figures.

In 2004, Berg played for Northants 2nd XI. He then had 3 years away from the professional game before a trial in 2007 with Middlesex 2nd's. He was 27 years of age at this point. He was spotted playing with Middlesex team-mate Kabir Toor in the home counties premier league for Radlett Cricket Club by John Emburey in late 2007.

He made his Middlesex 1st team debut at his home club Radlett against England u19's in 2008. Berg had been performing well and had been expected to play in the 2008 Twenty20 campaign only for a back/rib injury to rule him out of the entire tournament.
