He is the co-founder and editor of Fast Company Magazine, with Alan Webber.[1] Taylor's book, Mavericks at Work: Why the Most Original Minds in Business Win, was a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller, and was named a “Business Book of the Year” by The Economist and the Financial Times. Bill’s second book, Practically Radical, was published January 2011 by William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. His third book is Simply Brilliant: How Great Organizations Do Ordinary Things in Extraordinary Ways.

He is a former editor of the Harvard Business Review. He now writes a management blog for Harvard Business Review.[2] Taylor is an adjunct professor at Babson College and wrote a column in the Money section of The Guardian newspaper.[3]
