; Aims

After discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Yorkshire in April 2008.

Specific aims for the project are:-

*To complete tagging and assessment of all Yorkshire related articles (See below)
*To recruit more active editors (See Member News)
*To bring our top level article Yorkshire up to Featured article status
*To bring all other top priority articles (currently 15 with 2 at FA) to at least Good article status
*To set up a weekly or monthly selected article improvement drive (See this month's feature below)
*To produce a regular news letter for circulation to members

and apropos of the above a 2010 New Year article improvement drive/collaboration is being organised.

;Priority Articles

The top priority articles that have been identified to date are as follows -

* Bradford • Doncaster • East Riding of Yorkshire • Henry Moore • Kingston upon Hull • Leeds • Northern England • North Yorkshire • Ripon • Sheffield • South Yorkshire • Wakefield • West Yorkshire • William Wilberforce • York • Yorkshire • Yorkshire and the Humber

The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.

; Please bear in mind...

The project is subscribed to a clean-up listing which lists articles tagged with various clean-up tags that need attention. The listing is refreshed by a bot on a regular basis.

*Monitoring is essential<br />Use the watchlist to keep an eye on changes to the project's articles so that vandalism and spamming can be removed as quickly as possible.
*Moves<br />Please be careful when performing articles moves and ensure that you also move all the talk sub-pages and update any image fair use rational. Otherwise the archives, to-do lists, assessment comments and GA reviews get lost and the image may be deleted as it has an incorrect FUR. You will also have to check that the Commons link is set correctly.

;Thanks

* A very big Thank you to all the editors who labour away quietly and help make this WikiProject what it is; no edit goes unnoticed.

* To members who have added suggestions to the ToDo list at Yorkshire Portal.

* To the football and rugby editors who have done sterling work in keeping abreast of the top clubs.

* To all the WikiProject Yorkshire editors who have been busy on vandal patrol at watchlist.

Thank you for the link. That is a moving tribute to him. Storye book (talk) 08:59, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I wrote the article of one of the songs in the recent service, Bunt sind schon die Wälder. Do you agree that a less military look of the poet would be a good idea? The present pic is already a crop. Even better would be a pic showing him younger but I didn't see one. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:42, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Try this: File:Johann Gaudenze Salis-Seewis (1).png - younger and not military. We did already have the same pic at Commons, but I found a bigger version. Storye book (talk) 16:55, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I saw that one, but he still didn't look like 20, - ok, will take. For DYK, I nominated with the composer. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:49, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For a surprise, a Bach cantata is on the Main page today, where it was last year for the 300th anniversary, and they were too lazy to find something new ;) - Look at my story, and listen to the 3 whole-tone steps and the dialogues of Fear and Hope. - An open letter open to be signed (more info on the talk), - I haven't checked if you did, please ignore then. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:00, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agh. That open letter is scary. Storye book (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So is the life of Madeleine Riffaud. Pic? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:53, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Madeleine Riffaud done. Love that pic! Storye book (talk) 20:36, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's great! Thank you! - Nguyễn Đình Thi? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:49, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Will look tomorrow. Storye book (talk) 22:34, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for looking. Today's story relates to 2 meanings of 9 Nov, - imagine: I found a DYK I liked from 2006, before my time here. Two of yours are approved for the rejected ballerina. - The next couple: Christine Görner (who died 30 Oct but it was entered only 7 Nov) and Benno Kusche. I hope she didn't see that her article was up for deletion. - More pics but not as many roses as in the last batch. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:13, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Görner and Kusche done. Quite pleased with both photos this time, both looking their best. Storye book (talk) 11:57, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, - thank you! What about the Vietnamese whose name I can't type? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:38, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oops sorry I missed that. Currently overwhelmed with family birthdays. Will look in a minute. Storye book (talk) 10:33, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nguyễn Đình Thi done. Storye book (talk) 11:15, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! - She's already off the Main page, - would have been so fitting on a day many remember war victims. - And I didn't want to write her story yesterday which was a day of singing (Mawby, Rutter) on a private anniversary. In music, I matched a choir singing in resistance to war (in 2022) to yesterday's location, and Reger's anti-war Requiem (which isn't a Requiem) of 1915. - Johannes Beutler? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:29, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
