The average annual rainfall is 799.9 mm (31.49 in) with May as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in July, at around 17.3 °C (63.1 °F), and lowest in January, at around 1.9 °C (35.4 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded in Escaldes-Engordany was 33.0 °C (91.4 °F) on 16 August 1974; the coldest temperature ever recorded was −21.0 °C (−5.8 °F) on 30 January 1935.
