I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}

A friendly suggestion regarding signing comments in talk pages
Hello Wiki-star. I've noticed that you always begin your posts with your name, and not always sign with ~~~~ in the end. My guess is that this is a habit you have from some other place, but you probably have noticed that this is not the custom in Wikipedia. As the saying goes, "in rome, act like a roman", so it would probably be preferrable if you get the habit of signing your posts with ~~~~ in the end instead. -- Meni Rosenfeld (talk) 13:12, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
- Wiki-star: If it is a serious problem, then i will stop. However i don't think beginning a question with my name is that much of a problem. And if you don't mind, i would like to continue doing that. And for the record, i do sign at the end of my requested questions with 4 of those symbols (Wiki-star 21:17, 9 March 2006 (UTC)). If there is something else i need to add then please inform me.
Thank you for your time! Wiki-star 21:15, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
It isn't really a serious problem, it's just, well, weird. It's the kind of thing that makes one think, "oh, that guy that signs his name in the beginning again". If you are emotionally attached to this custom, by all means go ahead, but remember that it might not be very pleasent to the wikipedian's eye. About signing with ~~~~, you're doing that just fine, but it seems that you sometimes forget to do it. Not that that's terribly wrong either, but it really is recommended to always remember to sign your posts. You can also customize your signature to be more aesthetically pleasing if you'd like. -- Meni Rosenfeld (talk) 09:54, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
