If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

• To list a technical request: the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

• If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
• If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

• Muse (source of inspiration) (currently a redirect to Muse (person)) → Muse (person) (move · discuss) – This is a terrible title. The qualifier is meant to distinguish this article about human muses from the article Muses about the Greek goddesses, but "source of inspiration" applies about equally, so it fails in its function. The respective opening sentences are "A muse is a person [...]" and "In ancient Greek religion and mythology, the Muses [...] are the inspirational goddesses [...]", so "(person)" seems the obvious choice for a replacement. 2A02:560:5821:6C00:8927:F475:6FA6:FF53 (talk) 14:57, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

  @Bensci54 and BarrelProof: another user created the redirect. However, I need the present content of Tabal to be moved to Tabal (state) before I can rewrite both pages so there won't be any confusion between the region and the state. Antiquistik (talk) 20:07, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

  It would probably be best to first establish a consensus for your proposed WP:content fork in a discussion before preemptively renaming the current article, or to develop a second article in the Wikipedia WP:Draft space. Also, the existence of two articles can often be sufficiently addressed by a WP:TWODABS approach without needing to add a disambiguation qualifier to both titles. —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 20:20, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

• Charles Francis O'Connor (currently a redirect to Frank O'Connor (actor, born 1897)) → Frank O'Connor (actor) (currently a redirect instead to Frank O'Connor (disambiguation)) (move · discuss) – When I first created the page, I wasn't familiar with the WP:MIDDLE policy advising that Adding given names, or their abbreviations, merely for disambiguation purposes (if that format of the name is not commonly used to refer to the person) is not advised (italics from the policy page), and "Frank O'Connor (actor)" already directed to a different actor named Frank O'Connor. As "Charles Francis O'Connor" is not the common name for this person, after learning about the policy I wanted to bring the page in line with it. I explained the reasons on a talk thread for the other actor O'Connor, moved said O'Connor article to Frank O'Connor (director) (as he was also a director, and Charles Francis wasn't), and replaced relevant wikilinks with "Frank O'Connor (director)" so as to avoid any incorrect piping. Now all that remains is to move Charles Francis O'Connor to Frank O'Connor (actor). P-Makoto (she/her) (talk) 00:02, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

  I totally get your logic, but moving to a partially-disambiguated title is almost never an uncontroversial move, and Frank O'Connor (director) is also an actor.   @Amigao I am going to move this back to it's original title of Civil Service of the People's Republic of China, but with "service" in lowercase, since it was moved without discussion last week and an earlier move request on the talk page didn't find consensus for shortening "People's Republic of China" to just "China" in the title.
