I'm an artist.
My name is Colin Goldberg, and I am an artist, curator, and designer. My work is primarily concerned with the relationship between art and technology.

Since 2011, I have been involved in the development of Techspressionism, which began as a portmanteau of "Technology" and "Expressionism" that I initially created in 2011 to describe my personal artistic output.

I feel that an accurate current definition of Techspressionism is that it is a community of artists.

Christiane Paul, Digital Art Curator at the Whitney Museum, stated in a roundtable discussion on Techspressionism (which I moderated):
:"One thing that I like about Techspressionism is that as a term, it can transcend boundaries, and in terms of the question of whether we need to clearly delineate things, I am all for openness, and I think Techspressionism already fulfills an important function if there are artists aligning themselves with that term and finding a platform to discuss issues that are relevant to their work; that is always a function that makes a term valuable."

The artist community organized exhibitions and other activities, such as our Techspressionist Salons, which are monthly international artist meetups on Zoom. More than 80 of them are archived here.

There is currently an ongoing debate as to whether the article for Techspressionism should remain on Wikipedia. The same editor has also recently called into question the term's inclusion in Wiktionary.

With regards to current usage of the term, an example is its use as a hashtag by artists who identify with the term. You can see the usage of the term as a hashtag on Instagram (on 70k+ posts) here.

I also feel strongly about Techspressionism's value as a global community of artists sharing a common interest in the relationship between art and technology.

I invite any contributors to participate in the article's ongoing debate, as I strongly believe in the value of consensus. I would also invite contributors to directly edit the article on Techspressionism or the article on me in order to improve their sourcing and neutrality.

At the recommendation of a fellow Wikipedian with more experience than myself, I have added the following COI declarations below for transparency.
