On 17 February 2024, after finishing reading random articles I found through my Google search engine, my interest in Wikipedia increased, and I wanted to join. However, I couldn't create an account. The message I received stated that my IP address was blocked from creating an account on Wikipedia. This sparked more curiosity, and I wanted to find the reason. I kept reading through the guidelines, rules, and regulations to create an account and contribute like other successful editors. I persisted and never gave up until 1 hour and 30 minutes later, when finally I found the light at the end of the tunnel. I learned how to request for account creation and didn't hesitate any longer. I applied for an account creation and waited, maintaining good faith even though it was barely 24 hours before I checked back on Wikipedia and found that an account had been created on my behalf.

I was overwhelmed by the weird experience I had and decided to take a break from Wikipedia for a while. Within the 47 days of inactivity, I read through Wikipedia's guidelines and rules on editing in order to be acquainted with basic the knowledge. I officially resumed editing on 4 April 2024 and that was in essence the 1st day I made an edit on English Wikipedia. I will never forget! I am grateful to Wikipedia and one of the members of account creation team and an Administrator JJMC89.

On 15 April 2024, this user filed a complaint on the Teahouse concerning the IP address issue and asked to know whether applying for an IP block exemption would be appropriate. The answer received was satisfying, as interested editors responded that it may not be necessary as long as this User's account exists and is logged in on Wikipedia.
