I learned in a psychology class a few years ago that Freud thought everyone had a compulsion to commit suicide, a sort of death drive. Later called the Thanatos instinct, this death drive is the little voice that makes you want to jump when you look out a high window. 'Oh,' I thought, 'so the Thanatos instinct is like your editor.' |

It's about time
After a while of lurking discussion pages, I finally buckled down and registered. So feel free to give me advice, criticism, etc on any of my edits.
What's in a name?
I learned in a psychology class a few years ago that Freud thought everyone had a compulsion to commit suicide, a sort of death drive. Later called the Thanatos instinct, this death drive is the little voice that makes you want to jump when you look out a high window. 'Oh,' I thought, 'so the Thanatos instinct is like your editor.'
