The route starts in Dudley & runs North passed the Black Country Living Museum towards Tipton. At Tipton it passes the Pie Factory & runs on the outskirts of the town. It then takes a right turn, where the [[A4098]] from Bilston joins the route. It then goes along the former A461 route towards Wednesbury, where it joins the [[A41 road|A41]] Black Country Route.
