Achilleio (Αχίλλειο) is a municipality in the Corfu Prefecture, Greece. It is located in the south-central part of the island of Corfu, south of the capital city of Kérkyra (Corfu). It has a land area of 48.650 km² and a population of 10,319 inhabitants (2001 census). The seat of the municipality is the town of Gastouri (pop. 953). The municipality took its name from the palace Achilleion that Empress of Austria Sissi built there. The largest towns are Kynopiástai (pop. 1,279), Virós (1,018), Gastoúri, Pérama (877), Benítses (789), Káto Garoúna (650), and Kastellánoi (553).
