Those interested may play in my sandboxes, in the archive list above, if they promise to behave. This means:

  • No kicking sand
  • No hitting other people over the head with toys
  • No pooping, even if you are a cat and neatly cover it up!
  • It's my sandbox, so I can throw you out if you misbehave!  :-)

Awww, gee! That was really super nice! Thank you! Montanabw(talk) 04:47, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Montanabw, consider spending a minute on the article to rephrase and/or clarify that "self-declared" stuff. If you can do that, the whole edit war will be over very quickly. BTW, the IP editor has been warned (by another editor) for edit-warring, but you are guilty of the same infraction, of course (that I may agree on the content is irrelevant). Thanks, and happy days, Drmies (talk) 18:20, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not the one who keeps adding "self-declared", and I am begging people to take the issue to talk. I have repeatedly asked to discuss this. A non-involved editor has commented, but not the anon IP who is the other person involved with this. I requested a day or two ago that the article be semi-protected for a bit, which was not granted. If they don't want to talk and I can't get temp semi, got any other bright ideas other than to keep reverting this until the editor explains or sources the material? It's a wording problem, not a fact problem, but the bottom line is that I'm not going to dive into this without talking to someone who can properly nuance the issue. I cannot find any sourcing for the terminology used, so am reluctant to let it stay Montanabw(talk) 19:59, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I thought you had expertise on the matter and that this would be relatively easy for you. I don't disagree with you on the language, mind you. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 01:06, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I chimed in with you on the talk page. Please let me know if it gets out of hand and I'll be happy to step in--don't find yourself guilty of edit-warring. Happy days, Drmies (talk) 01:10, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, We shall watchlist and stay tuned... Montanabw(talk) 19:32, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yo! Montanabw and Dana... see Wikipedia:The Core Contest/Articles#H where ... our friend is sitting ... should we do a joint effort and finally get off our behinds? Ealdgyth - Talk 20:58, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I could definitely deal with that. I doubt it would win us anything in the contest (since they're more worried about getting really bad articles to a decent state than making decent articles awesome, but it's still a good incentive. I have more free time for the next few months, so it might be a good time to focus on our annual large article push :) Dana boomer (talk) 21:48, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I should be editing more after the holidays when the spousal unit is playing truck driver for a while... so Jan is good. (I also put down to work on Norman Conquest for myself... but no reason we couldn't work on horse as a group effort) Ealdgyth - Talk 21:56, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Anon IP

If I'm correct, you keep deleting very important and very relevant information and thereby are vandalizing the "Stallions" page. I am talking about information about stallion group keeping and about the links to relevant articles on "The Organization for Animal Dignity".

And don't say that topic is covered. An article about stallions on Wikipedia really needs to give information about keeping stallions correctly, appropriate to the species. In most cases, that's stallion group keeping. The information given in the article here on Wikipedia mentions stallion group keeping, but is severely lacking. Additionally, without stating any reason, you keep on removing links to external sources which contain much detailed and important information. Please stop doing so. The link to "Pasturing Stallions can work, says Swiss Study" actually has no public content and therefore is almost worthless as a source for public information. The resource in question requires membership to read the article. So again: Please stop removing links to public resources about stallion group keeping. You are severely damaging the article on stallions by doing so and thereby causing damage to Wikipedia and the information that it provides.

If you don't stop deleting said relevant information I will have to see how you can be stopped from doing so again and again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.78.117.132 (talk) 03:00, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:FRINGE, as all citations you have provided in the stallion article from the "animal dignity" site are clearly a fringe theory by a single individual from an unreliable site. If you can find better, reliable sources for your claims per [{WP:RS]], then provide those to back up your materlal. Montanabw(talk) 20:46, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The horse pictured as an example of Rabicano on the Arabian page

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabian_horse

Do you know anything about this horse? If I didn't know better or have pictures to prove that wasn't my horse, I would swear it was my horse. I would really love to know about this horse so I can find out if it is at all related to my horse who has since passed away. Name? Location? If she had two hind socks and no white on the front, she would look just like my horse Mandate. Please please email me at jsanders_73@yahoo.com and tell me what you know about her! I know that my horse stood at stud for a number of years before he was gelded. He was a son of Imperial Mandate and Sand Rose. I showed this picture to my hustand and mom and the picture actually took my mom's breath away at how much this horse looks like Mandate. I must know more about her/him... Please! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.156.159.10 (talk) 21:47, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely NOT your horse. (smile) I took the photo at an event open to the general public, I took the photo in 2010, I took the photo at the location noted in the information on the photo's page (click on photo to get to information page) and I know for a fact that the horse in the photo is a mare, and I can look up her registered name. Also note that said mare has a "V" freeze brand on her hindquarters, which might give you a hint about her origins! If you want more details, click "email this user" and send me a private message, as I do not feel comfortable disclosing more about the horse on a public web page. Montanabw(talk) 23:50, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know she's not my horse... And I've never used this forum before so forgive me, but where is the "email this user" link because I do want more info on her - and I've been out of showing for a LONG time so do not know the branding signatures (my horse was a 1973 model - so yeah - been awhile! Thanks!! Jennifer Sanders 12/22/11 16:46 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.156.159.10 (talk) 22:46, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you are in wikipedia, along the left side of the browser window are a list of links. One group, "toolbox" had a link that reads "E-mail this user." Click on it and follow the directions. I will, however, give you a hint about the origin of the brand. Click here (Smile) Montanabw(talk) 00:20, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I still am not seeing that as an option under tookbox - will you email me? jsanders_73@yahoo.com. BTW - I think I found her on the website you linked for me... Even her face is the same... Wow... Please email me! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.156.159.10 (talk) 16:20, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I don't email people from wiki unless they contact me first. You might have to sign up and get a user name for the email option to appear, I'm not sure. Montanabw(talk) 01:58, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yogo lead

Can you take a stab at expanding the lead? I think it may need to be a bit longer if we go for FA. I'm asking MS and Vsmith too. PumpkinSky talk 13:39, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eventually, because the lead summarizes the rest of the article, I recommend it be the LAST thing fixed before going up for FA. I can tweak on it as it sits and clean up the big chunks, but refinement may need to occur almost up to the end, as if sections are rearranged, it helps to make the lead parallel the sequence of the article (else some FA reviewers get unhappy and confused.) Montanabw(talk) 02:14, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've added more to Polly's article and created Polly Bemis House. Care to help? I'm trying to find more on the period 1933-now. There's very little. Asking Gerda too.PumpkinSky talk 21:01, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I probably won't have time to help on this one, but if you need something Montana-specific that I might be able to find due to being on-site and close to the MHS archives, give me a holler. Montanabw(talk) 02:32, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Refactoring is a helpful way to deescalate a disagreement

You've explained that you get "snippy". Fine. The next step is to refactor the snippy comments you make. --Ronz (talk) 02:45, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dude! Are you getting snippy again? I thought we agreed this was my week to get snippy. I'm forced to settle for sarcasm. Happy 2012! BusterD (talk) 03:39, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not snippy enough to waste my time refractoring something when I have no clue precisely which of my ever-so-many comments was the snippy one, unless it was comparing myself to The Little Red Hen. So, you can still be snippy, Buster, I'll stay with snark, how's that sound? LOL! Montanabw(talk) 06:43, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited History of Montana, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Otter Creek (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
