Priya Sharma is a happy-go-lucky woman in her early 30s, not married so far and quite sure that she wouldn’t be able to get married ever. She takes tuitions for college students and is happy with her own world. Ram Kapoor, a wealthy businessman in his early 40s, is a ruthless entrepreneur who also believes that he has missed the bus of marriage. But as fate would have it, they bump into each other through a minor car accident which hurts their egos more than their vehicles.

Tragedy strikes when one day, when Priya is diagnosed with signs of breast cancer, shocking the couple. Ram promises Priya to fulfill all her wishes for the next 7 days until biopsy reports come. The next full week Ram ends up doing all sorts of things and when reports come, it is revealed that Priya is completely fine.


Meanwhile, Natasha struggles to adjust to middle-class life after marrying Kartik, but soon comes to love the family and hold close the affection they shower over her.

With all these, Priya finally confesses her love for Ram to her father, Krishna Ji, Apeksha and Neha. Ram too realizes that he has fallen in love with her. Unfortunately, they both get into a huge tiff and finally, out of anger and dismay, Priya blurts out that she loves Ram. She goes to help Ayesha for the fashion show in which as Natasha's promise she is made the showstopper. But Natasha has other plans in store. She is still raging with revenge and plans a malfunction for Ayesha. Ayesha meets with a malfunction on the ramp and the entire Sharma family is disgraced. Heart broken Priya leaves, while Ram comforts her; Priya gets upset that she doesn’t expect him to love her back and that he need not kiss her out of guilt. Ram cannot hold back any longer and tells Priya that he loves her and they both consummate their marriage.

Natasha tires to make Ayesha know Sid's plans but she does not want to listen either as Ram and every day she brings up a new problem leading to war of words in the Sharmas. Natasha finally leaves the house but Niharika beats her up making up her face look worse as if beaten up badly as if she would have come in the Kapoor Mansion just like that Ram would not have allowed her to live there but she actually wanted to put Priya down with her help.

Thus, the police again take Kartik under custody. This situation had driven them far away from each other. Sudhir falls ill so Priya calls for a doctor. He also asks Vikram to call Krishna Ji to whom they lie and bring her to [[India]] back from[[ Australia]], as Priya is curious about Niharika's past. She keeps shut but gives contact of a man named, Dr. Jayesh Karekar. But, Priya is unaware that the doctor she called is actually Jayesh. They call him, who disconnects and flees from his house. The neighbours are unable to tell Priya anything as Jayesh had been hiding from the outer world a lot.

It is revealed that Niharika was Jayesh's wife and they had kids, Sid and Ishika. But she wanted more money and comfort, so she tricked Ram's father, Amarnath Kapoor and suppresses Jayesh and divorces him, while Krishna had to leave Amarnath in the same way Jayesh had to leave Niharika. Jayesh(as Krishna too had adviced) advices Priya to get away from Ram's life and his family, only then she'll be able to expose Niharika's dark ways and Priya heeds Jayesh's advice.

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain meaning All looks too good is an Indian Television drama series that premiered on May 30, 2011 on Sony TV[1]. It is based on the story of two unmarried strangers. The show explores the worlds of two different personalities; Priya Sharma and Ram Kapoor; who accidentally discover love after they marry[1][2]. The series is produced by Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms and stars actors Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor in the leads. The show has also been dubbed in Telugu and started to air on Gemini TV from April 8, 2012 as Nuvvu Nachchav, in the 2 pm time slot[3][4][5]

Plot

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is the story of two strangers getting married and falling in love[2].

Priya Sharma is a happy-go-lucky woman in her early 30s, not married so far and quite sure that she wouldn’t be able to get married ever. She takes tuitions for college students and is happy with her own world[2].

Ram Kapoor, a wealthy businessman in his early 40s, is a ruthless entrepreneur who also believes that he has missed the bus of marriage. But as fate would have it, they bump into each other through a minor car accident which hurts their egos more than their vehicles[2].

Then after Ram's stepsister, Natasha Kapoor, and Priya's younger brother, Kartik Sharma, fall in love and wish to get married. But Kartik wants Priya to get married first and Ram's stepmother, Niharika Kapoor, decides that Ram should marry Priya, to which Priya's parents Shipra and Sudhir Sharma happily agrees. However, both Ram and Priya are actually poles apart, their personalities and lifestyles being too different. Nevertheless, a series of miscommunications and misunderstandings, destiny contrives once again to get the two married. Through Priya and Ram's hilarious bickering, they unknowingly develop a sort of affection for each other. Their relationship grows from awkwardness to a deep bond they both treasure with each other. Ram and Priya slowly start developing feelings for each other through the small but significant moments they share together, especially after being sent to Australia for their honeymoon, during which they become closer. Through sharing their pain, tears, laughter and joy, Priya and Ram become even closer and start caring for each other deeply, discovering the blissful feeling of falling in love and having someone by your side throughout life's journey. However, two mysterious women from Ram's past, Apeksha Malhotra and Krishna Kapoor, enter their lives; the suspicion drives Priya and Ram apart. Unable to take the pain, Ram finally reveals that Apeksha is his step sister and Krishna is his actual mother, whom he hates because he believes she eloped with another man, leaving his father to die.

Meanwhile, Natasha struggles to adjust to middle-class life after marrying Kartik, but soon comes to love the family and hold close the affection they shower over her.

Natasha gets to know that she is pregnant, and aborts her child as if a child is born to her then she will not be able to make her career. However, Priya and Ayesha get to know that. Ayesha blackmails her and Natasha promises to make her the showstopper of the coming fashion show. While, Priya keeps shut as if Ram gets to know he will be shocked and may not be able to withstand the news.

Tragedy strikes when one day, when Priya is diagnosed with signs of breast cancer[6], shocking the couple. Ram promises Priya to fulfill all her wishes for the next 7 days until biopsy reports come. The next full week Ram ends up doing all sorts of things and when reports come, it is revealed that Priya is completely fine.

With all these, Priya finally confesses her love for Ram to her father, Krishna Ji, Apeksha and Neha. Ram too realizes that he has fallen in love with her. Unfortunately, they both get into a huge tiff and finally, out of anger and dismay, Priya blurts out that she loves Ram. She goes to help Ayesha for the fashion show in which as Natasha's promise she is made the showstopper. But Natasha has other plans in store. She is still raging with revenge and plans a malfunction for Ayesha. Ayesha meets with a malfunction on the ramp and the entire Sharma family is disgraced. Heart broken Priya leaves, while Ram comforts her; Priya gets upset that she doesn’t expect him to love her back and that he need not kiss her out of guilt. Ram cannot hold back any longer and tells Priya that he loves her and they both consummate their marriage[6][7].

Their relationship blossoms and Priya surprises Ram with a statue of his father while Ram gives his business property in Priya's name. Ram gets emotional and their bond grows stronger. Meanwhile, Sid has other plans to get Priya out of the house by working on Ayesha. Niharika too wants to see Priya out as Ram was forgetting about her and always thought about Priya. Priya makes Natasha and Ayesha become friends again. Priya gets to know about Sid's plans from Natasha but she is proved wrong falsely by Niharika. Natasha tires to make Ayesha know Sid's plans but she does not want to listen either as Ram and every day she brings up a new problem leading to war of words in the Sharma’s.

Natasha finally leaves the house but Niharika beats her up making up her face look worse as if beaten up badly as if she would have come in the Kapoor Mansion just like that Ram would not have allowed her to live there but she actually wanted tu put Priya down with her help[8].

She reaches the Kapoors' saying a lie that Kartik [8]has beaten her. Ram reaches Sharma’s' and scolds him severely but Kartik reports all the truth to Priya but Ram is nowhere to believe him[9]. Natasha makes the Sharma’s put into jail. Ram gives bail to Ayesha, Sudhir and Shipra but Kartik remains still there. Priya at last gives bail to Kartik [10]and convinces Ram to talk to Kartik. She also gets to know the truth from Natasha who is sent far away in a village by Niharika, who asks that everything will get fine once she gives Ram divorce. Thus, the police again take Kartik under custody. This situation had driven them far away from each other. Sudhir falls ill so Priya calls for a doctor. He also asks Vikram to call Krishna Ji to whom they lie and bring her to India back from Australia, as Priya is curious about Niharika's past. She keeps shut but gives contact of a man named, Dr. Jayesh Karigar. But, Priya is unaware that the doctor she called is actually Jayesh. They call him, who disconnects and flees from his house. The neighbours are unablt to tell Priya anything as jayesh had been hiding from the outer world a lot.

Meanwhile, Natasha getting to know that Karthik has again been put in jail escapes from Niharika's men who brought her to that the unknown place. However, she is noticed by Rishabh on her way to the Sharma House, who in turn informs Ram and he in turn informs Niharika, leaving her shocked and Natasha is soon put into a more well protected room by Niharika, leaving Ram disheartende as they have again failed to find her. While, on the other hand Priya, who is curious about Niharika's past leaves no stone upturned to find Jayesh and finally gets to know that the doctor is Jayesh and finally catches hold of him and asks him about the Kapoor's past, and finally, he yields. It is revealed that Niharika was Jayesh's wife and they had kids, Sid and Ishika.But she wanted more money and comfort, so she tricked Ram's father, Amarnath Kapoor and suppresses Jayesh and divorces him, while Krishna had to leave Amarnath in the same way Jayesh had to leave Niharika. Jayesh (as Krishna to had adviced) advices Priya to get away from Ram's life and his family, only then she'll be able to expose Niharika's dark ways and Priya heeds Jayesh's advice.

Special Appearances

  • Vidya Balan and Emran Hashmi (to promote The Dirty Picture)[29][30][31][32][33] -– It is shown that Vidya has come to Australia’s Sydney to promote her film , The Dirty Picture, along with Emraan[33]. She stays in the same hotel where Ram and Priya are doing during their honeymoon. Ram is a big fan of Vidya but is very rigid to let others know that, however, Priya is aware about that[33]. Vidya and Priya come across each other when Vidya gets in Priya’s room to escape from the media. She sees a saree which is gifted to Priya and is similar to the one Vidya is wearing. Priya wears that and escapes but is followed by the media thinking her to be Vidya. Ram by mistake bumps into her, and thinking her to be Vidya reveals her, his feeling for Vidya. When he gets to know the truth he sighs[33]. Later, he is told by Emraan that his wife, Priya is very pretty and beautiful, when she shakes a leg on stage with Vidya[33].


  • Ronit Roy [34][35][36][37] -- It is shown that Ronit Roy, who is a very good friend of Ram, attends a party where Ram and Priya are also present, just a few nights before Priya reveals Ram, her feelings for him. Ronit was unaware about Ram's wife, Priya as he had never met her. Priya introduces herself to Ronit and even tells him that she loves his show, Adaalat. She also compliments him on the manner in which he has maintained himself and his health, just to make Ram jealous so he reveals Priya, his feelings for her. Soon, jealous Ram no more to tolerate it comes and introduces Priya to Ronit, as her wife. But, he bring no impact on Ram and Priya's relationship.
