Fred G. Meyer (born February 21, 1886–died 1978) was a pioneering U.S. retailer.
Born in Brooklyn, he travelled through the American West before settling in Portland, Oregon in 1909, where he founded a coffee shop (1915) and then in 1922 a grocery store bearing his name in downtown Portland. He expanded this store into the Fred Meyer chain of supermarkets and department stores.
Meyer is often credited as one of the originators of the "one-stop shopping" concept, when in 1933 he built the Hollywood Fred Meyer, his first full-block megastore on Northeast Sandy Boulevard at 42nd Avenue in Portland (the site now occupied by Rite Aid since the store's relocation to the new Hollywood West store in 1991.).
Upon his death his stock in Fred Meyer was used to establish the Meyer Memorial Trust (MMT). MMT is not to be confused with the Fred Meyer Foundation, which is sponsored by now Kroger-owned subsidiaries of Fred Meyer Stores and Quality Food Centers (QFC).
Fred Meyer and the Occult
Fred G. Meyer was also a known member of the Order of Rosicrucians (AMORC). On Sept. 2, the late Fred Meyer of Portland, OR, left $ 200.000 to the Rosicrucian Order. Fred Meyer is also named in The 13 Bloodlines of the Illuminati, [Van Duyn Bloodline] because of donations made by the Fred Meyer Charitable Fund to organizations linked with the Illuminati.
Rosicrusianism also heavily influenced the thinking of Adolf Hitler. Suspiciously, the logo for Fred Meyer is often red lettering surrounded by white and lined with black [Logo 1][Logo 2] -- the same colors as the Nazi flag, which were derived from the occultic groups like the Rosicrusians.
As well, if you enter the Apparel Department of any Fred Meyer, you will be surrounded by racks that are shaped like the Swastika. In addition, the Food Department uses green freight carts, nicknamed "U-Boats."
