The edit that altered the New York Times can only have been deliberate misrepresentation. It was added by an account now blocked for sockpuppetry, as part of a series of edits that substantially increased the size of the article on 18 October 2013. Some of those edits are good, but if anyone wanted to do a source check, it might throw up some more issues. Edit Gauhar on Bigg Boss

The below line is not true, especially the part as "the most powerful contestant." The two reference points for the statement have nothing to do with the statement. She is a current participant of the Indian reality show, Bigg Boss 7, where the guests Shahid Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz, Anil Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Sania Mirza and Kangana Ranaut described her as an outspoken and the most powerful contestant of the show. Change her birthday from 8/23/75 (38) to 8/23/81 (32). In the first line it says she was born in 1981 so that is proof enough. If you google gauhar khan age, it will also indicate that she is 32.

GAUHAR KHAN'S BIRTH DATE MENTIONED HERE IS WRONG. IT IS MENTIONED HER AS 23 AUGUST 1983. BUT HER ACTUAL BIRTH DATE IS 23 AUGUST 1981 WHICH WAS EDITED THIS WEEK. CHECK OUT THE PROOF HERE WHICH IS ALSO REFERED AS AGE PROOF IN YOUR ENTRY.

I've just removed all mentions of her age from the article. Normally I would not edit through protection, but in this case, I think removing unsourced and poorly sourced WP:BLP info justifies the removals. She has been 29 for the past 4 years. She is really 33 as she is only 2 years younger than her sister nigaar khan who was born in 1979. A reputed show like Bigg Boss will not put Gauhar Khan’s age down as 30, if it were not true.
