Comment: I think this needs some rewriting in order to be eligible for Wikipedia in order to more clearly explain the importance of the case in France and the reasons why it is possibly landmark/notable. Bearing in mind that it contains biographical information about a living person (see WP:BLP), I am uncomfortable with the tone, particularly the description of the person convicted and the circumstances leading up to the case, and there is a lack of sources for some statements. That said, this is clearly a well researched piece and I would suggest talking to the Teahouse and also ensuring that every controversial statement is supported by a sound reference. As an appeal has been launched and this is such a sensitive subject, I think it advisable to be very cautious. I have sent a link to the Teahouse to your Talk page. Agnès Marin was a female murdered by Mathieu Moulinas on November 11, 2011 in Chambon-sur-Lignon.
This murder was perticulary notable because of the bbrutality of the act, the youth of both the victim and the allegd killer and the fact the alleged affender was under investigation for committing another rape a year earlier.
Murder
On November 11, 2011, in Chambon-sur-Lignon, in the département of Haute-Loire, Agnès Marin[Note 1], 13-years-old, went with Mathieu Moulinas[Note 2], nearly 18, both being alumnis at Les Cévenoles boarding school, to look for hallucinogenic mushrooms in the forrest; once there, Moulinas proceded to rape Agnès then stabbed her 17 time and finally burned her body with the petrol he had brought before[1].[2]

Agnès Marin (b. November 26, 1997Expression error: Unrecognized word "november".) had been enroled by her parents at the Cévenolles boarding school in 4th[Note 3] because of bad company and marijuana consommation at her former junior high school
She has been buried on 2011, her would-be 14th birthday.
Controversies
Some in France critized the several different failures of the judicial system, whether by freeing such suspect after three months and putting him in a co-ed boarding school or the non communication to Mathueu's judicial supervisor of the fact he was nearly expelled for typing "pedo sex" in a motor research[1][2][3][4].[5]
While the prosecution argued the school was aware Moulinas was charged for rape, the school said they weren't knowing why he had legal problem; however his father said he alluded his son was under investigation for a sexual offense.[2] The school was facing financial difficulties and problems of attractivity.
The fact that, out of the two psychologists having examinated him, the first was a women from Lithuania who had problem with speaking French and the second had not the necesary titles to exerce was also pointed and critized by the prosecution at the trial.

On August 2, 2010, in the Gers, Moulinas lured Salomé F., 16, in the forest in the pretense to give €10 he owed her. Once there he proceded to bind her then raped her with a dildo he stole to his parents[3][5][6]; he was then sent to remand for four months in the Pontet Prison, near Avignon.
He was then examinated by a therapist, who has certified him as "redeemable"; the judge freed him under stipulations he had to undertake a therapy for his psychlogical problems and his drug consommation, go to school and leave the Gers.[6]
Out of seventeen schools the Moulinas requested, only one, the Cèvenol school, accepted Matthieu in Première.[Note 4][6]
Once there, he proceded to have in-run with the school authorities, including having a gothic style, bad marks, publicly kissing and petting his Tahitian girlfriend[7] or going buy tobacco; they were existing rumors about how he viewed pronographic movies at breakfast or was walking while holding his girlfriend with a leash.[6]
Such behaviour leaded him to be nearly expelled when the teachers learned he serarched for "pedo sex" on the Net in the school computers, until the father interviened and promised Matthieu would behave better, and he just had to repeat his year; none of these events was transmitted to the court -apart for the buying of tobacco- until Agnès's murder.
The second year he seemed to have bettered himseld, having better marks and behaviour and having abandonated his gothic look, until Agnès's murder.
At his trial before the Cour d'assises des mineurs[Note 5], which beginned on June 18, 2013 and was held in camera for the most part at the request of Salomé F. even though the Marins wanted otherwise and where Mathieu recognized his guilt, the prosecutor critized the numerous failings of the instututions and asked the jury to not determine the killer deserved to have the benefit of minority[Note 6], asked for a 30 years sentence and civil commitment, taking account the fact the killer has signs of mental problems[8]; observators described him as cold and bored when the pictures of the autopsy has been showed.
On June 28, 2013, the killer was sentenced to life inprisonment, a sentence which had not been meted against a juvenile since Patrick Dils in 1989 (who was subsequently exonerated in 2002.)[9] On 29, he and his lawyers appealed the sentence.[10]
