I noticed another editor told you that TMZ categorically was not to be used and that it is akin to the National Enquirer. That is not so — its stories that cite official court records and on-the-record statements absolutely are usable. |

Whenever another editor tells you something, ask them to point you to the relevant policy or guideline that states it. If they point to an essay, don't worry about it; anyone can write an essay and they hold no policy / guideline weight.
