Biography

Lane was born in Lawrence, Kansas at the Haskell Indian school where his parents met. During the past 44 years, he has worked with Indigenous peoples in North, Central and South America, Micronesia, Southeast Asia, India, Hawaii and Africa.[15] He is the Founder and Coordinator of the Four Worlds International Institute, as well as the Chairman of Four Directions International, an Aboriginal company, which was incorporated in 1996 as Four Worlds' Economic Development Arm.

Lane has received a variety of National and International Awards for his work in serving Indigenous Peoples and the Human Family. In 1992,Indigenous Elders from across Canada and the United States recognized Lane as an Hereditary Chief of the White Swan Dakota's.[16]

Lane is an award-winning author and film producer with film credits including the National Public Television series "Images of Indians" with the late Will Sampson, "Walking With Grandfather", "The Honor of All: The Story of Alkali Lake" and " Healing the Hurt"
