Robert H. Macy
Robert H. Macy (July 5, 1930-November 18, 2011) was a Democratic District Attorney for the State of Oklahoma's Seventh District, comprised of Oklahoma County, the county seat and State's capital city, Oklahoma City, from 1980 until 2001.[1] He was a nationally known death penalty prosecutor with a reputation for impassioned courtroom performances.[2] Sometimes called "Cowboy Bob," Macy typically wore a western suit with a white shirt, a black string tie, and a black western hat.[1]

Macy was born in Indianopolis, Indiana.

A 2016 Harvard study identified Macy as one the nation's five "deadliest" prosecutors, a group whose aggressive death penalty prosecutions also resulted in significant incidents of exonerations and reversals by appellate courts.[3]
