Vykuntapuram is a village in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Amaravati mandal of Guntur revenue division.[1][2]

Demographics

As of 2011 Census of India, Vykuntapuram had a population of 3,128. The total population constitute, 1,578 males and 1,548 females —a sex ratio of 981 females per 1000 males. 356 children are in the age group of 0–6 years, with child sex ratio of 914 girls per 1000 boys. The average literacy rate stands at 58.45% with 1,969 literates.[1]

Transport

Vykuntapuram is located on the Vijayawada-Amaravati road[3][4] at a distance of 10km from Amaravathi.[5] APSRTC operates buses on this route from Pandit Nehru bus station of Vijayawada.[6][7] A waterway categorised as class–III is planned from Pulichintala to Prakasam Barrage, connects Vykuntapuram with Ibrahimpatnam.[8] Government is planning to build a new reservoir from Vykuntapuram hill to Damuluru in Krishna District.[9]

Education

The villages plays a major role in education for the rural students in it.The primary and secondary school education is imparted by government, aided and private schools, under the School Education Department of the state.[10] As per the school information report for the academic year 2015–16, the village has more than 225 students enrolled in over 01 school.[11][12]
