:::Note that I only commented on your use of administrative tools, that didn't form the basis for the block. I blocked you and Jaakko each for 24 hours because of the move warring on the page, Jaakko [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=move&user=&page=Treaty+of+Fredrikshamn repeatedly moving] despite opposition to his initial move and you [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Treaty_of_Fredrikshamn&action=history reverting and labeling the edits as vandalism] – when the dispute was quite plainly a content dispute – rather than attracting the attention of a neutral admin to move-protect the page. As is typical when dealing with edit or move warring, I treated both participants equally and blocked both of you.

Sweden project

Fred, sorry to start a new thread, I can't find the old discussion. Wow, you worked hard. It looks great and almost 1/4 done. So, we continue to add under the headings or start working to improve the articles on the list, right? I wanted to ask, since you have been involved on the Wikimedia side, could you put up some links to the picture archives there so that people know where to look for images please? We could most likely also use handy links to copyright issues for Swedish art and other types of images. I have some stuff from antique books and archives that I scanned this summer while traveling. I'll upload the images this weekend and link them to my sandbox, for now. And links to official translations of gov. terms, literature lists, etc, need to go up too, right? Or is that compiled elsewhere? Best wishes, Pia 21:54, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I found the Resources section on the "Board" page right after posting this, so I realize that it's already linked up with the project page. Just need to figure out how the Category Sweden portal is relating to the project page now. Getting there. :) Pia 02:54, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is to inform you that the project listed above is currently being considered for deletion. The project's creator and only listed member, User:Mic, has a note on his talk page saying he is absent and to contact you, so I am doing so. You should also note Wikipedia:WikiProject Swedish counties is being considered for deletion as well, under virtually identical circumstances. Please feel free to take part in the discussion of the project. Thank you. Badbilltucker 17:52, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, that's right, I wrote that note on Mic's talkpage. I'll look into it.

In response to your comment, I am currently going through the entire list of projects for inclusion in the eventual final version of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. The projects I nominated, which are both inactive and have only the founding editor listed as a member, qualify under both of the informal criteria which have been used. This is not to say that anyone would oppose continuation of the project's efforts. The project could clearly be restarted by a currently active editor, or it could become a work group or task force of a large project dealing with the nation as a whole. It is simply saying that the projects as they exist have received no particular attention or activity. Thank you for your speedy response, and I hope this makes my actions in proposing the deletions a little clearer. Badbilltucker 20:54, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Earlier mentioned "Swedish ..." projects up for deletion

It has been suggested on the MfD page that these projects might be moved and made a part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Sweden. Certainly, if you wanted to just integrate in the data, or even create task forces/work groups to deal with these subnational entities specifically, I think just about everyone would agree with the merge. It looks like your the primary force behind the Sweden project, though, so it's really your call to make. I think most of us would agree with whatever you decide. Third opinion

Hello, Fred. I don't know many other Swedes around, therefore I decided to seek your opinion. Please check this new Gdanzig. The guy who identifies himself as "Finnish nationalist" on his user page routinely replaces Swedish place names in medieval contexts with the Finnish ones. As I understand, he does not like the fact that the castle was built by Swedes. I assume the intense finnization of the article violates WP:NC. He was blocked for 31 hours in consequence of his egregious incivility but now is back to it. Could you advise what should be done in this situation? --Ghirla -трёп- 12:50, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I asked user:Tupsharru to look into it. He knows more than I do about old Swedish/Finnish history. / Fred-Chess 08:39, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I guess this guy will eventually cause his own banning in some way. By that time he may have driven away a couple of actually good and potentially productive users, frustrated by the fact that Wikipedia can't keep rabid nationalists in check. Then he will come back with another username, and the whole thing will start again... Tupsharru 21:53, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Stockholm county.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Stockholm county.png. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Conscious 08:30, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't erase them

I'm gonna take some photos with my camera. But don't delete them right now. My article is gonna look nasty.

WPSweden template

What info do you want it to contain? Not the text itself, but for example assessment parameters or similar. Just a single |class= parameter or something more like an |importance= parameter? – ElissonTC 14:29, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

{{WPSweden}}. Do you want me to start up the whole assessment page as well? I've got time to spend... – ElissonTC 20:13, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

I have blocked both you and Jaakko Sivonen for 24 hours for move warring. See Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Jaakko Sivonen (talk · contribs). --bainer (talk) 00:44, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay... I hope you know what you're doing... / Fred-Chess 07:54, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
While waiting for the block to expire or someone to unblock me, I might as well spent a few minutes composing a reply to the WP:AN, as I can't do any other editing anyways :-P
Dear Sirs of Wikipedia
I accnowledge that my procedure was incorrect. In case you question my motivation, I thought a block was uncontroversial since I was a neutral part who had only come to the article on the request of Ghirlandajo three days ago, and that I acted on behalf of four other prominent editors (as seen on Talk:Treaty of Fredrikshamn).
Again, I realize that my involvement in this dispute appeared greater than I considered it to be myself, that the block was not uncontroversial, and that I therefore should have posted a request for a neutral review at the WP:AN first.
Fred-Chess 09:41, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note that I only commented on your use of administrative tools, that didn't form the basis for the block. I blocked you and Jaakko each for 24 hours because of the move warring on the page, Jaakko repeatedly moving despite opposition to his initial move and you reverting and labeling the edits as vandalism – when the dispute was quite plainly a content dispute – rather than attracting the attention of a neutral admin to move-protect the page. As is typical when dealing with edit or move warring, I treated both participants equally and blocked both of you.
I'm more than happy to unblock you if you understand why I blocked you in the first place. --bainer (talk) 13:01, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
