The Cross Rail Ranch is a 22,000 acre property on the US-Mexico border near Douglas, Arizona. It is owned by Roger Barnett, a regular interviewee in the controversy surrounding illegal immigration from Mexico into the United States.

Mr. Barnett has been sued twice [1][2] by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) for detaining and allegedly harassing Latinos discovered on his property. Although no criminal charges were made, Barnett was made to pay damages to plaintiffs in both cases.

Multiple media reports, using the exact same phrasing, have claimed that the ranch "is known by federal and county law enforcement authorities as 'the avenue of choice' for immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally,"[3], although no source for the "avenue of choice" quote has been cited.
