You left a message on my talk page

Hello! I just saw a message by you on my talk page. You said that you are very familiar with Baloch history, then you asked me to to make a page on Baloch Khan. I can make that page if you want me to, but first I’ll need some info to put in it. Kindly tell me all the basic stuff to include in the article and then I’ll make the article or else it may get removed quickly. I’ll be waiting for your reply. :) Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 23:38, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Mowahid Mohsin: Hi! Sorry, that was actually 185.69.186.123 who left that message which I accidentally reverted. Apologies for the confusion. 0qd (talk) 23:44, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok, thanks for your guidance. Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 23:45, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Holdfast (disambiguation)

Please note that disambiguation pages like Holdfast (disambiguation) are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory

The only article that mentions Holdfast: Nations At War (that I could find) is Napoleonic Wars in fiction, so I added that link to your entry and removed the other blue links. Leschnei (talk) 01:00, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Leschnei: Thank you. 0qd (talk) 01:19, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

Hi 0qd. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account for 1 month. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, you can always ask for removal at WP:AN. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to ask at the help desk (WP:HD) if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:42, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment for Classics articles

Hi 0qd, I've just noticed you working on assessments for WP Classics articles. Would you be able to re-asses the article R. A. B. Mynors, which I recently expanded and therefore cannot assess myself? Many thanks, Modussiccandi (talk) 23:12, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Modussiccandi: Hi. I've assessed it as a B for WP CGR & low importance. I'm not comfortable with rating above Start for any other WikiProjects as I'm not particularly familiar with their criteria, however if you'd like me to I'd be happy to look into it for you (as a note, it will take a bit). Great work on the article. 0qd (talk) 23:33, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, @0qd:, I really appreciate your help. Don't worry about the other WP assessment for the article. Modussiccandi (talk) 23:42, 4 August 2020 (UTC)~[reply]

Guideline and policy news

  • A request for comment is open that proposes a process for the community to revoke administrative permissions. This follows a 2019 RfC in favor of creating one such a policy.
  • A request for comment is in progress to remove F7 (invalid fair-use claim) subcriterion a, which covers immediate deletion of non-free media with invalid fair-use tags.
  • A request for comment seeks to grant page movers the delete-redirect userright, which allows moving a page over a single-revision redirect, regardless of that redirect's target. The full proposal is at Wikipedia:Page mover/delete-redirect.
  • A request for comment asks if sysops may place the General sanctions/Coronavirus disease 2019 editnotice template on pages in scope that do not have page-specific sanctions?
  • There is a discussion in progress concerning automatic protection of each day's featured article with Pending Changes protection.

Technical news

  • When blocking an IPv6 address with Twinkle, there is now a checkbox with the option to just block the /64 range. When doing so, you can still leave a block template on the initial, single IP address' talkpage.
  • When protecting a page with Twinkle, you can now add a note if doing so was in response to a request at WP:RfPP, and even link to the specific revision.
  • There have been a number of reported issues with Pending Changes. Most problems setting protection appear to have been resolved (phab:T273317) but other issues with autoaccepting edits persist (phab:T275322).

A token of appreciation beyond just me promoting Aria (manga) to GA. You worked extra hard for it and deserve this too. Nice work! Link20XX (talk) 00:12, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Aria (manga)

On 19 March 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Aria (manga), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that many locations in the manga Aria are based on real-life Venice? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Aria (manga). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Aria (manga)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
