Debbie could be the sole creator of the Brill bend/Fosbury Flop
After Dick forsbury death Diario Marca (spain´s main sport diary) published a series of articles based in his revolutionary style and the dimmensioon he have in the sport, and also they recovered an interview to him in a visit to Spain in 1973, where he made an exhibition, being asked about the tecnique discovery he said (translated from Spanish) "Was her (Debbie Brill) the first to jump like this in the world, or at least, the first we have news about it. My college´s trainer saw her and copy the style" ("Fue ella la primera que saltó así en el mundo, o, al menos, la primera de la que tengamos noticias. Mi entrenador del colegio fue quien la vio y copió el estilo")
I do not have access to the original publication but the link to the full article, can be found there. I didn not find any mentions to this anywhere, where it is stated that both jumpers (and their trainers) were developing their high jump style inedpendently
