Tone

[edit]

This article has serious issues in terms of style and tone, and reads as though it was written by a sports journalist for a redtop paper. These are just a few of the offending passages:

  • Reg Harding, one of the perennial qualifiers who never seems to get beyond the opening round, - this time he did, just!
  • Six more third round places up for grabs as the first weekend concluded.
  • both he and Alan Warriner could curse their misfortune to draw each other early
  • a clearly shellshocked Whitlock taking the 5th set
  • to his and wife Yvone's clear relief, he was in the quarter-finals
  • Part wasn't the only one desperate to meet Taylor

The article is also totally unreferenced. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 07:09, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you are right. I guess one could delete all that prose. -Koppapa (talk) 17:46, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
