Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

[edit]

I chose to evaluate the article on Islamic art because I am currently enrolled in Islamic Art. I'm also majoring in Art History and know a little more about western art than I do Islamic art.

Evaluate the article

[edit]

I thought that this article did a very good job of staying on topic throughout the entire piece. As far as my knowledge there was no information out of date. It also does a good job of presenting very neutral and nothing seems to be showing a marginalized community in a negative life. The discussion of architecture continued for a little longer than I expected but after reading I understand why since Islamic architecture really effected wester architecture. All of the citation links seem to work and all information for the references is present. Looking through the references cited they come from a variety of publishers and books. This article is in two WikiProjects: Islam and Visual Arts. This topic is discussed a lot more in depth than what has talked about in class. Western art has not been discussed to deeply in this course yet.
