What's the consensus for the cutoff point for obscurity/excessiveness with this page? We seem to be listing another golf tournament every week - will we be listing the winner of every Formula One race, or major tennis tournament as well, or does that seem excessive to people? I propose listing only the 4 major European league winners (major as defined by qualification spots for the Champions League) - those of the Premier League, Primera League, Serie A and Bundesliga. Average Earthman 11:55, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Right, since nobody has actually asked me not to (and I've asked here, and at Village Pump), and Wikipedia complains about the sheer size of this article, I'm going to do a bit of housekeeping. Firstly, nothing is being thrown away. Not by me, anyway. Secondly, I'm starting by using a simple rule of thumb - if any one sport covers more than a page on my web browser, I'm going to give it it's own 2004 in XXXX article, since it's a lot longer than it has been on any of the previous year in sports pages. Thirdly, no I'm not picking on your favourite sport of baseball/cricket/figure skating/international tiddlywinks. I'm just streamlining the 2004 in sports page, the sport itself will keep its entry on the main page, just a bit shorter. I'm only doing the first couple now to see if anyone screams. You'll notice from the entries above that I've been considering this for some time. If you think that some other insignificant sport has far too much detail on it as well, suggest here that it gets its own year in that sport page, and if nobody objects, we'll shift it. But I don't want to cut out anything that is accurate, since there hasn't been enough discussion on that. Average Earthman 12:53, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Just to let everyone know, I've added the the info regarding the 2004 24 Hours of LeMans to the Auto-Racing section. Enjoy. Captain Spyro 3:52, February 20 2005

The medal count for the 2004 Summer Olympics disagrees with the count on the linked-to page. Someone needs to figure out why they're different. (I suspect that this page is wrong; my guess is that the count changed due to disqualifications and such that were settled after the games--just a guess.)
