Dispossession?

[edit]

Personally, I don't think any of the entries in that section are really related to "property".

Aside from that, the navbox is too large and disparate to be useful. Perhaps it should be rewritten as an WP:Outline? — Arthur Rubin (talk) 23:11, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Arthur Rubin, Thank you for your comment. In classical theory, property is not a thing, but a bundle of rights. The articles linked to in this section of the template address different ways in which people have been dispossessed of those rights, whether in things, or in their own person (see: self-ownership). Regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:29, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Replaced image

[edit]

The template had used an image of a man using a primitive fishing pole. This image had hardly anything to do with the concept of property. (Open-ocean fishing rights are a form of property, but this man was fishing in Burkina Faso, a landlocked country.) The new image is of a real property in France. 75.163.164.24 (talk) 10:06, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comment, but actually the original, carefully selected image has a lot to do with property, in particular rights in property. Whether in Burkina Faso, France, or the Atlantic Ocean, one man's ability to fish for sustenance or livelihood depends on his relations with others... Kind regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 15:59, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Overlapping

[edit]

In its present form, 'Estate' (and/or its variations) appears in three separate places in this Navigation Box. Any suggestions about how best to streamline the NavBox, including these overlapping topics? Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 13:49, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
