Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Reason: To insert Semi-Protection as the page is about the Prime Minister of Mauritius and repeated edits by users some with unreliable sources and stated in a negative style than the original sources. SwiftReader1994 (talk) 07:34, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Automated comment: A request for protection/unprotection for one or more pages in this request was recently made, and was denied at some point within the last 8 days.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 07:44, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As the editors who seem to be going back and forth on this are mostly extended-confirmed, only full protection would have a chance to work and we rarely impose that for very long. I also note that no one's using the talk page ... we do like to see that you've taken that route.

If you want full protection to force discussion on talk, let us know. Daniel Case (talk) 21:01, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. - Ratnahastin (talk) 02:10, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. CambridgeBayWeather (solidly non-human), Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 09:51, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite create protection: Offensive name – If someone actually created this account, they'd be blocked for a blatant WP:NOTHERE violation. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 05:05, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(For clarification, the talk page was, in fact, created). I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 05:05, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Declined. This was created via page-move vandalism, not created by editing the page. It's extremely unlikely to be recreated anyway. Sockpuppets blocked and  IP blocked. Reaper Eternal (talk) 05:13, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Niasoh ❯❯❯ Wanna chat? 08:45, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. CambridgeBayWeather (solidly non-human), Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 09:52, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary move protection: Page title dispute/move warring – This article was moved unilaterally multiple times by multiple user recently, for which it was protected for a short period. Today someone did a cut paste move. I'd request protection against such activities, though not sure if cut-paste moves can be stopped that way. Also, the related town article - Karimganj may also need such a protection. Thanks. -. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:24, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Declined It's been several days since the move. And move protection won't stop cut an paste. CambridgeBayWeather (solidly non-human), Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 09:58, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – The awards are already wrapped-up but the users are displeased on the results, thus the users ended up give a bad edit to it. VernardoLau (talk) 09:51, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Declined There are a lot of edits but I'm not seeing a lot of back and forth. CambridgeBayWeather (solidly non-human), Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 09:59, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: The vast majority of recent edits have been IP-based changes that require reversion. This could be considered as the current protection level working as intended. But would it be sensible to increase further?Chumpih t 10:07, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of vandalism and edit warring from WP:SPAs. Mb2437 (talk) 10:14, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Per WP:GSCASTE. - Ratnahastin (talk) 11:04, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Ongoing block evasion by User:Bigboss19923 on a backwater article. Belbury (talk) 11:47, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Frequent vandalism by users with few contributions and unregistered users, potentially due to the page being popular to immature Internet users or similar. TipzTeam (talk) 12:15, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: I request extended confirmed protection. This is a high-profile article, and comparable articles (e.g., on American politicians) tend to have extended confirmed protection. We are experiencing issues with new editors, with telling usernames like "MaralagoPawn," who have a limited understanding of Wikipedia's processes and are making unilateral changes to a decade-old stable version of the lead without consensus.
