Polychronis Tsigkas
Polychronis Rafail Tsigkas (born August 27, 2000) is a Greek/Cypriot professional basketball player who last played for Apollon Limassol B.C. of the Cypriot Basket League.[1]

Early years
Tsigkas was born from a Greek father and a Cypriot mother at Ioannina, Greece, where he spent his childhood. He started playing basketball in the youth teams of the local team AGS Ioanninon.
Professional career
Anorthosis Famagusta (2021-22)
After playing some years in the minor divisions of Greece until 2020, he started his professional career signing his first professional contract with Anorthosis Famagusta B.C. of the Cypriot Basket League for the 2021-22 season.[2]
Efkarpia B.C. (2022-23)
For the 2022-23 season he signed with Efkarpia B.C.[3] of the Greek National League 1.
Achilleas Kaimakliou (2023)
On July 2023 he signed with Achilleas Kaimakliou of the Cypriot Basket League.[4] On December 2023, after 9 games, he parted ways with the club due to some disagreements.
Kavala B.C. (2024)
On January 2024 he signed a 3-month contract with Kavala B.C. of the Greek National League 1 for the rest of the season.[5]
On April 2024 he was fined by the Greek Basketball Federation and suspended for one game, after attacking a referee on a playout game.[6][7]
Apollon Limassol B.C. (2024)
On August 2024 he signed with Apollon Limassol B.C. of the Cypriot Basket League.[8] On November 2024, after 3 games, he parted ways with the club due to some disagreements.
National team career
Tsigkas was eligible to represent Greece or Cyprus internationally due to his dual citizenship.
He was a member of the Greece men's national under-16 basketball team but he didn’t manage to make it to the final squad for the 2016 FIBA U16 European Championship. He then decided to represent the Cyprus national basketball team for the rest of his life.[9] He was a member of the Cyprus men's national under-18 basketball team and under-23 national team.[10]
Personal life
Polychronis has both Greek and Cypriot citizenship.
His mother is Cypriot from Limassol.[11]
