Francis Dore is a French diplomat, and lawyer, known for his contributions to Franco-Indian relationships and European integration.[1] In 2003, he received the Padma Shri award [2]by Indian president A. P. J Abdul Kalam, which is one of India's highest civil honors, for his work in public affairs.[2]

Career

Dore started his academic career by studying Political Science and Law, which led to him being hired as a professor at the Faculty of Law in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Royal Government under Prince Sihanouk appointed him as a legal adviser due to his expertise. In 1965, he transitioned to a role as cultural and scientific adviser at the French Embassy in India, where he dedicated nearly a decade to enhancing diplomatic ties between France and India. During this period, he played a crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between the two nations due to his efforts.[3]
