Robert Stell Heflin (1815-1901) was legislator from Alabama. Heflin, who was born in Georgia, started his life as a court clerk and a lawyer. He then became a state representitive in the state of Georgia. After one year, he moved to Randolph County, Alabama, where he became a state representitive in 1849, and a state senator in 1860. From there, he was elected to Congress as a member of the house in 1869. Robert Heflin died in 1901 in Alabama.
