Maurizio Giuliano is a social scientist with a background in academia and media.

An Italian and British citizen, he earned a degree in social sciences from Oxford University, where he was directly tutored by distinguished scholar Ngaire Woods, and a master from Cambridge University. During his time at Oxford, he was presidnt of the Oxford University L'Chaim Society, a prominent student society ran by renowned American rabbi [[Shmuley Boteach], and was active in promoting inter-faith dialogue.

He published and edited several studies, including two books on Cuban politics, as well as numerous articles in many countries. His schoarly work on Cuba, notably on the 1996 purge of Havana's Centre for American Studies (CEA) (through the book "El Caso CEA"), continues to be regarded as a milestone, which exposed the internal conflicts between Cuba's political apparatus and the country's intelligentsia, previously unknown. The book was a piece of investigative journalism accompanied by academic analysis, and contained original documents that the Cuban Government had tried to classify.

His career saw him come to a standoff with the government of Myanmar in 1998, being denied entry to the country after his meetings with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi.

Through his work, he has travelled to every single sovereign country in the world, which led in 2004 to his entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest person to visit all independent nations.

Maurizio Giuliano got married in 2005 to Breshna Orya, a member of the Afghan royal family.
