The Secret of the Caves is number 7 in the Hardy Boys book series.

The book was written by Leslie McFarlane under the pen-name Franklin W. Dixon. In the original 1929 edition, brothers Frank and Joe Hardy look for treasure in a nearby cave. They encounter one of the smugglers they sent to prison in the previous volume in the series, The Shore Road Mystery.
