Yasuda Nagahide

Yasuda Nagahide (1516-?) was a retainer beneath the clan of Uesugi throughout the latter Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan. As Nagahide initially became retainer to the Uesugi, it is not recorded what specific feats he may have performed in the course of his career up until the Fourth Battle of Kawanakajima in 1561, at which he had been praised for a show of great bravery by his present lord Uesugi Kenshin. With the dispute of successorship between Uesugi Kagetora and Kagekatsu subsequently following Kenshin's unfortunate and sudden passing, Nagahide would support Kagekatsu initially within the Otate no ran of 1578, which came to a resolved conclusion by the following year. The specific time of death for Nagahide remains unknown: it is highly speculated that he died of illness during the 1582 military suppression of Shibata Shigeie; other theories state him having died by the year of 1585 or 1592, both through similar means.
